How will the players react to Lamberts exit ?
I am wondering if we will see an immediate upturn in form from the lads or will we still see a slide into the Championship ?
How much of a negative effect was Lambert having on the team and will they now be let loose to play a different style of football ?

There hasn't been a single comment by any of the players, either on twitter, leaving the ground or anywhere. They could of been gagged of course? I hope to see an immediate response from them under a new man. Krulak alluded to the players not being happy...

I was at the Leicester match and they didn't look interested any more, I put that down to what they are hearing from the boss. I'm expecting an improvement in attitude if nothing else

Grealish let his unhappiness be known and aside from literally one minute on the pitch at the end of the Bournemouth win we've not seen or heard anything of him. Both Weimann and Benteke have obviously been unhappy, you can see it in Benteke's disinterest and they're both getting angry on the pitch. Every player on loan or in the academy (and under Lambert never likely to start a match) is probably happy to see him gone and I suspect a few other first team players are looking forward to trying to win some matches again in front of fans who actually want to be there.

The players will have to come to terms with the end of their part time jobs. The new manager will expect them at BHM every day and it's likely they will have to train twice as hard for much longer. The Villa holiday camp is just about to close.

The body language on the pitch speaks volumes. Benteke moans at every little thing so he's had a gutful and I noticed that Delph has become half the running man he was. Okore has lost his smile (except when he scored and look at the reaction from the players then!).
I feel 100% sure Lambert had lost the dressing room but after he dodged a bullet with the Cuntyhouse saga and on the back of Lerner's earlier statement, it would have been pretty clear to the players that any voice raised in objection to Lambert would only hurt their careers.
I expect to see a massive change in attitude now.
If Sherwood does get the nod then I only hope that the Spurs players he pissed off wont be getting on their phones sending SMS's to our lads saying that he's a sugarbag. What we don't need is for the team to be all pissy before he's even showed up to BMH.

There's been more than a few either direct or inferred critical comments about the players being a lazy bunch of sugarbags. This is their chance to prove that they are simply a group of extremely efficient (if stupidly overpaid) automatons that - given an excellent manager - will execute each and every instruction perfectly as they are fully incentivised, totally efficient, and absolutly blameless with regard to any sub-optimal performance that has accidentally occurred during the last few years.
I expect a performance against Leicester that is nothing less that liquid football - anything less than an otherworldly performance will lead me to believe that they have been slacking off - surely this is unthinkable for those Bentley-toting-Little-Aston-gated-living-model-dating-sugarbags to give anything other than their very souls each Saturday for the Villa??!!

Great sign, but I'm jealous about the blue sky behind it!!
By the way Trotters, how painful do you think it is for us Poms to be enduring wall to wall grey each and every day for months on end, I mean living in Devon is like inhabiting a slightly overfilled sponge, where any slight movement results in a small puddle forming wherever you go. I'm talking about a cold, damp, grey, swampy, bone-soaked existence that is occasionally punctuated by one or two hours of dryness each year, where blue skies are treated with extreme suspicion and there are - in Devon at least - 412 different words to describe grey. 50 Shades of Grey isn't a Mummy-porn film in these parts, it's simply a description of the sky on any given day, if you don't believe me, spend February on Dartmoor - you'll be hammering at the prison gates after a week - asking to be let in as a month in Block H being hounded by rampant gay psychopaths is preferable to half an hour on the moor.
Sorry I went a bit off topic there!!!

Damp, cold days that seem to impregnate your bones, with a cloud cover that seems to be a permanent fixture. Now that's proper weather. Makes me proud to be English.
You'll never get yourself a stiff upper lip with sparkling blue seas, powder white sands that go on for miles and bright cloudless skies. You have my deepest sympathies Trotts.
