Looked like you were playing poker on your mobile while Jon was rummaging in your bag for the headache pills :)
Although at one stage I saw you in the corner dancing on the table
I will be on a flight back from gran canaria on that evening but I'm sure it will be a good night.

Without wishing to namedrop, I spoke to Tony Morley about this event on Sunday. He reckons that most of the EC players will be there. Peter Withe is doubtful as he would have to come back from Thailand and Jimmy Rimmer is not very well at the moment.

Yes, Fergal, he was a great keeper.

When you think, he played against us in the 1970 LCSF and then ended up being our keeper all those years later. From Division 3 to Champions of Europe in 12 years. What an incredible journey!

It really is stunning when you stop and think. I used to love Jimbo Rimbo and I hate to say this but never thought Spinksy was anywhere near as good. I remember Mervin Day getting in the team at one stage.

Re: European Champions night.
I cursed our luck in Rotterdam as Jimmy trudged sadly off.
However, I remain convinced that the gods were with us that day. Nigel Spink had to make some low saves that Jimmy may have struggled with. What a performance for someone who must have been as nervous as hell.

Can't argue with that at all TBE. It was meant to happen that night.
