Another reason to love that shirt (don't think she's a Villa fan tho)
In that case she should take it off

Again, he probably didn't think the criticism was harsh, he probably thought - hang on a minute, were employing him to represent this club to others and he's criticising us, we've got enough troubles at the moment and could do without this.
Or maybe he finds the truth hard to accept?
Agreed and my sentiments too.
and for the record I don't like or want Lee Hendrie anywhere near Aston Villa.

Just my two penneth worth on this. Roy Keane has put his foot down and will not allow the squad to be upset by anybody, especially someone as influencial as Taylor.
Great headphones though IT7'S.

Still doesn't change the fact that Lambert is a spineless twat and Keane and the team also if they can't take criticism.

Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things.

Do we know for certain it was Lambert that banned him (if indeed he was banned)?

Re: Ian Taylor
Yes, so everyone should feel free to speculate wildly...and by that, I mean blame Lambert and Lambert alone for being childish, petty, spineless, cowardly, ignorant, etc (and I don't mean that to be directed at you, Trotters, even though it's your quote I've used. Please don't think that's the case.)Trotters wrote:I don't believe there's anything definitive yet.
It starts to feel like the negativity is just self-fulfilling anymore. I'm all for dissenting opinion and differing points of view, but Jesus H it's tiresome seeing (on a daily basis, it feels like) just how much more negative this collective fanbase can get about things.

Re: Ian Taylor
Whilst I don't think Taylor's criticism of Lambert was particularly cutting and certainly what should be expected of him by his paper, I assume the club expected him to be more General Krulak/Cgale-like and spin things in a way that only puts the club in a good light.
Maybe they've told him to stay home and have a think about who he'd prefer to work for: the club or the paper.
So I don't blame the club or Lambert one bit.
However...Lee fucking Hendrie? Is this THE best the club could come up with as an ambassador? There are various Lions Club presidents in the states that would be a far better choice than that orange dickhead. And if they really wanted an ex-player then there are no shortage of fine options without having to turn to Hendrie.
This little saga sums Villa's ongoing senior level fuck ups though: hire a bloke as ambassador who is slagging the club off in the paper, mis-manage his "standing down" (or whatever you want to call it) and grab a bloke with a chequered past to take his place and to team him up with Jack Woodward for the ultimate insult to the ears of AVTV subscribers.

Re: Ian Taylor
Agreed Trotters ... Hendrie an odd choice to replace Taylor. Never a big fan of him on or off the field, and the off field stuff is concerning. Still, hoping he's turning things around! Hate to see anyone fall on hard times.
As for Lambert, rumor he's been lurking around the Grassy Knoll near Dealey Plaza ....

If HH is saying Taylor told him in person then that's proof enough for me.

The thing with Taylor is he is an honest bloke and no yes man - he was never going to bow to lerner and lambert and say what they want to hear - he will tell it how he sees it and that's why he has my respect .
Quite how lambert will cope with Keane once he tells him how he sees things will be interesting - Keane is renowned for speaking his mind no matter who he upsets - prepare for fireworks!

Re: Ian Taylor
Might be the medium - Keane won't be speaking his mind in the press, to the wider public. Telling Lambo something is a stupid idea when behind closed doors in different to writing things in a newspaper after all

Exactly.
Speaking of the press, I'm a little surprised that nothing has been leaked from Faulkner.

Re: Ian Taylor
Can someone just explain to me why Hendrie has got so many haters out there???
Has he done something wrong that i do not know about???
Always thought he put a shift in on the pitch and its a great shame we don't have someone of his ilk in the current squad.
Although there must be something wrong behind scenes as he never quite manged to make it consistantly in the side whoever was in charge

Just me but I've never liked him. Not as a player or afterwards. Drink-driving, coke head who became too full of himself too quickly

Re: Ian Taylor
Sounds bit like Merson and McGrath but they are legends???
Bloody fickle fans
Always tried hard on pitch and never heard anything to convince me otherwise,
You really think there aren't more than Hendrie before and after that time that haven't dablled in things they shouldn't???
Just that he has obviously been to stupid to keep it quiet

He is a cunt, goes out and does all kinds of stupid stuff then blows all his money while acting a cunt then pulls the depression card and has everyone feeling sorry for him, his attitude stinks and he still walks around with an air of accomplishment about him when he hasn't accomplished bugger all.
The difference between Mers, McGrath and Hendrie is that Mers and McGrath have achieved something.

Both achieved things. Mers won the league and domestic pots just not with us, McGrath won the FA Cup and League cup

At least Hendrie wasn't an alcoholic whilst playing football.
