in fairness to Bruce, he made subs fairly early And it made a difference, sham she took our 2 dead all specialists off though!
And Whelan looked better once Jedi was on with him, but far from man of the match...

The sty isn't an easy place to go for many teams but for us it is worse since their hatred towards us.
Not a good game at all but to leave with a point and a clean sheet will do.
We move on and at least this fixture is gone.

I'll always take that. This game will always be a shitter regardless of form, squads, divisions.
They had chances. We had chances. Decent defending from both teams. Jota was their best player, Hourihan probably ours

It'll do, i was worried about this game after the Wolves no-show. I feared we were maybe not a local derby team but a battling point will do. They beat Cardiff last home game so not a bad result.

This has seemingly been the Villa strategy for years against Blues now. Draw at their place, win at ours. The real title contenders in this league need to win around eight to ten games away from home though, so we MUST sort this out. I'm not sour about this, because this is their cup final. But come on Villa, let's f#cking win at Preston now.

I'm surprised at the level of equanimity. Personally I think that was not acceptable and spent most of the match thoroughly pissed off.
We were fucking shite for all but a handful of minutes in the ninety and I don't just blame Bruce solely - much as I'd like to - but he takes a big portion of the rap.

That was utter drivel but it is over and we got a point, so let us move on to Preston and put that firmly behind us!
Really glad that I didn't pay to watch that rubbish!

Poor result and missed opportunity to close the gap on the top two, and give ourselves a bit of a cushion in the play-offs. Regardless of how much they 'up' their game, we really need to be winning fixtures like this, if we're serious about promotion; we've beaten them plenty of times in the recent past, and as a team challenging for promotion against a relegation candidate we should be disappointed that we haven't done as such today.
Still whilst disappointing, you can't complain with our form, results wise, given we've only lost once in the last twelve games. Need to beat Preston though other wise it will have been only one win in the last four games.

Deadbuzz my friend. Of course in the cold light of day we "should" be beating teams who are that low in the table. But when you look at their recent results at home, they beat Cardiff and Sheff Wed, so they aren't a pushover at the sty. Couple that with them giving absolutely everything they've got against us, it was never gonna be easy. Hell, you even said you felt like we were gonna lose didn't you?
I look at it like this. QPR had not won in seven games but yet walked all over Wolves. Cardiff couldn't beat Millwall at home, Leeds got done by Sheff U, Norwich lost for the first time since August and Preston lost at home too. So in reality, this has been a weekend full of upsets and that's why I'm not too down on this result. IF we contrive to lose at Preston though then the heat will be turned up on old potato head again.
This month was always gonna be a test. Wolves, Fulham, Blues and Preston. If we get five or seven points out of it then we'll have done Ok tbh.

Well I was hoping I'd write that and then they'd make me look foolish, but of course in reality it doesn't work like that.

Re: Birmingham City v Aston Villa pre match, match and after match rant thread.
Just got back from a weekend away as having to violate myself by breathing the same foetid air as the slummers is always a fixture I ignore until its over.
Well we continue to be eminently unwatchable but also hard to beat, so I guess that's something.
Once the bedwetters have got over the fact that they didn't lose their cup final, and realise they only got one measly point and then they are away again, we'll have wiped the dogshit off our shoes and commenced the push for promotion.
24k was all they managed and that was with us selling out and their 5k of twats who only attend their cup final. Add to that the cardboard clappers (ha ha fucking ha), I'd say everything they do never fails but to live down to expectations. Tin pot club, chav "fans", tin pot ground.
Birmingham City: "No past, dull as fuck future".

I've just seen that those clappers that the small heath fans were issued with, were Claret and Blue, but not only that but they were also sponsored by Utilita who happen to be 'Villa's official energy sponsor', how on earth do they manage to come up with all these faux pas.
