Spurs v Villa

Could be a short run for us this year unless Spurs concentrate on the league

Would have been nice to get an easier draw, but I feel we can win this one. Wouldn't be the biggest shock ever. Either way I'm not too bothered about the cup this year.

Spuds away, fear even their second string will be too strong for us, its the only domestic cup I've never seen us win, looks like the wait goe's on.

No way we can beat Spurs, bar a miracle.Be nice to get a draw away and bring them back to a rocking Villa Park but just cannot see it. Oh well.

Not bothered. This season is about one or maybe two things - stability and at a push, promotion. We came out of 2015/16 as the worst team in the top flight, a dazzling cup run is pure fantasy and ultimately masochism.

Absolutely, they just cannot be.

Perhaps, but I'd be more sad if we shot our load into a cup run and suffered in the league. We've made progress out of the woods but we're far from clear yet.

When everyone is saying this, then you just know we are going to go on a cup run, just to make things difficult lol!

Laughing

If we did and it went well and we keep our shit together in the championship then great! Not going to turn my nose up at things going right, of course. But equally, if we get spanked by Spurs and have to sit out the rest of the cup, it would neither be a surprise nor the end of the world. Laughing

To be honest I'm now hoping we get to the 5th round so our match against Newcastle gets postponed. Instead of it being on Saturday as originally scheduled, Sky have just moved it to Monday night.
Monday night away at Newcastle.
Thank you Sky you utter, utter wankers.

Are you for real? The Newcastlte away game is a Monday night? Clearly someone wants to end the record of us selling out every away seat and make Newcastle look like a bigger club.

That's a joke and I hope someone at Villa has lodged a complaint and a request for a change.

Well after the Cardiff "performance" I would love to see a more experimental and youthful lineup at White Hart Lane. May as well go something like;

..............................Gollini............................
Hutton.........Chester.............Baker..........Amavi
.................Tshibola...............Lyden...............
Green.................................................Grealish
.......................McCormack...........................
.............................RHM................................

Just let them run around a bit, it'll be an improvement on the Cardiff lot.

Can't see Bruce risking Baker, think Elphick will be back in as will Cissokho but give the reserves a run out as it is all rather pointless as it is extremely low on the list of priorities this season.

Should purely use it to try out the youngsters as our normal 1st 11 would be annihilated. Only chance we have is to throw some surprises in there for Spurs but even then i see a 0-5 FA Cup draw 4107169167

Richards is out with knee injury (fat), Suliman is a defender.........no harm trying him out up front though trots!! Toner can play alongside Elphick, or just pair Suliman with Toner at CB, play Green in place of Adomah, play Calder on the left, Ebola and Lyden CM, RHM and Davis up top. Probably win 27-16.

People on twitter acting like Tottenham are suddenly Barcelona or something. Of course they will be favourites but I don't think it will be anywhere near as easy for them as people are predicting, unless Bruce decides to play a completely experimental side, showing that he wants to concentrate on the league.

I wouldn't be majorly surprised if we managed to sneak a win, wouldn't be the biggest upset ever and we're not a bad side at the moment and don't concede many. But more than likely think we'll lose either 2-1 or 1-0.

We are a struggling midtable championship side that can't win away from home playing a side that is coming into form although that side won't face us but it shouldn't matter as Spurs reserves will see us off fairly comfortable 3 - 0!
