Howard took at least a year out for family reasons and was getting on a bit when he came back...... SIR. Interestingly USA conceded more goals with guzan playing then in previous years. Think what you like but facts are facts.

I'm not making up anything you are just distorting the facts, Howard was number 1 and Guzan was the spare, Howard got older wanted time off Guzan filled in then Howard came back, not going to walk in again is he as that would of made Guzan even worse lol!

Also you obviously don't know much about keepers because Mark Bosnich sniffing lines during the game would be far superior than that bald shit yank.

The way this game is going, we will struggle next season. Slow, pedestrian, nothing up front. Very poor.

That was just a continuation of last season.

Too many familiar faces (and performances).

Sorry to quote the old song but RDM/Xia just don't understand.

content early but sadly lacking up front, good in a way as will force incomings sooner rather then later. No point playing Rudi is this formation/style. Ayew up front as cannot play him in the 3 with Jack and another better MF needed, need Amavi up to speed fast.

Tshibola and Gardner as the DM's.

Baker and Elphick look solid together apart from a bad 5 mins was easy.

We were worryingly opened up like last season. Nothing has changed. Cisshoko lamentable pass for the first, Westwood not tracking for the second and Ayew poor giveaway for the third. However none on those should have led to us being carved up as we were. It was amazing how quickly we were undone by a couple of passes.

It's worrying, very worrying. In the back of my mind though I just have to remember that when you have the likes of Westwood, Hutton, Bacuna, Cissokho etc still in your side then can we really expect anything different? I also have concerns about Elphick tbh!!..for me Okore is the best centre-back we have and it's naive to leave him on the bench just because Elphick is seen as some "leader".

Going forward the same problems remain...Bacuna on the right? Gestede on his own? Not for me!!..Grealish doesn't defend well in the number ten role either tbh.

All in all it's better that the horror show happen now rather than next sunday!!..and hopefully we'll see some action in the market in these next five days.

The most noticeable thing for me today, and this has been going on for a good few years now, is how completely petrified we look at home, the expectancy from a player thinking that any mistake made will be immediately jumped on by the fans, and this in just a pre-season game with absolutely nothing to play for, now i'm not saying any fan isn't entitled to express themselves and voice their opinions towards the lads on the pitch as they see fit especially after last seasons catastrophe, but the players must look forward to every away game with excitement as the away support is so much more lenient and forgiving towards them.

Looks like the only way we can get this losing mentality out of the club is to start without any of the starting regulars from last season.

I'll keep positive tho & say that it's good to have weaknesses exposed sooner rather than later.

Yeah only Gollini, Elphick, Baker and Gardner wasn't around last season. So seven of the side today were part of that nightmare we saw last season...and sadly their mentality still remains as fragile as ever.

I hate it when we knock it about in our own half, say for 12 passes and get nowhere .but love possession football played the right way ie barca the gunners , but you need class to do that we don't have it

You wouldn't play Messi up front and play it to his head all the time

So why play it on the floor when you're playing Gestede?

Need a quick, big striker or we're in trouble. Again.

This is the wake up call for our management, not going to be easy, agree with above remarks, throwing in the towel, defending a problem, another problem is the fans have had enough they turn against the team. Which is normal after last year, it's going to be hard to restore this team as it is at the moment. Need to get some mentally minded players in. We have to many shell shocked players in this side.

we need better players to play sexy.

Bacuna and Westwood must be awesome in training to keep getting picked.

I like Rudi and think he could smash em in the champ but only if we play wingers and feed him endlessly. Otherwise no point even having on the bench.

Get Hendrick, Yedlin and McCormack/Bamford asap.

Pretty much as i mentally pictured that game going. Boro looked rusty and very sluggish in the first half and we barely capitalised with the usual shocking forward play and clueless end product.

Ayew did what he does as he messed up on a few occasions when in a great position. He'll get the odd few, maybe 10 to 15 for the season is my guess. Gestede i think is just awful. His solitary weapon being his heading ability when a particular type of cross is whipped in..again i can see maybe 8 to 12 goals for the season from him.

Disappointing frankly and it's just so glaringly obvious we need at least 1 very good striker who gets at least 20 for us to have a chance of promotion,

Do i think we are ready?

Nowhere near..... A poor result against a rusty, average at best Boro team.

bloody hell, checked it, thought they signed him last year but loaned him. Get him from spurs then, if we relying on attacking fullbacks for width then replace Hutton and hope Amavi up to speed fast and stays fit. Also one more AM and a striker and lose the shite4.
