I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle. He's obviously an amazingly intelligent lad who has made the most of his connections back home, who has blagged some good deals and has cultivated the favour of the Chinese Govt.

I believe that there's financial backing coming from somewhere that will slap the fuck out of this sleeping giant of a football club, wake it up and drag it kicking and screaming back to the top flight and beyond.

And whoever is holding the chequebook in all this has given an impressive young(ish) man who is not only patriotically loyal to his country but also probably beholden to them for given him the chances that he's had, the opportunity to drive it all.

If Hollis had his socks blown off then there's a reason. Maybe that reason is because, like an onion, this deal has many layers of people with all their ducks in a row ready to make Villa great for their own ends. But, like an onion, some people have peeled back the first layer, cried and think it stinks*
