McCormack probably as close as we could hope for to a sure thing where goal scoring at this level is concerned. Get him in, then a midfield player who can find him in dangerous areas

Amazed at some of the things I've read. Had to block some complete forehead on a Facebook forum who said it's stupid to waste £12m on McCormack when we could spend it on a £6m striker who is younger and a  midfielder.

So ignore a man who has scored 66 goals in 3 seasons and buy kids with potential. Because that worked for us before...

Would be nice to get a player in his prime for a change, but I must say I'd rather have Bamford for that kina money. Anyway what do I know, lets hope this lad scores us a 25 league goals.

Apparently (According to a poster on another site at least) he's (McCormack) turned us down for Norwich. Clearly intelligence wasn't his strong point

Norwich aren't loaded and other than a young up and coming manager haven't got much going for them. If we fail to convince him to join the project at VP then it would be a really bad sign IMO

Yes this is my concern too i guess, losing a player like Clark to a rival and then missing out on a target to another main rival sends out an awful message. Hopefully there is nothing in it but it is a concern.

Jedinak would be a fantastic signing, is the type of player we need in midfield, the type we've missed for many seasons now.

One question does fair play rules apply to us or any club under first year of ownership??

I'd rather have both! McCormack bought in and Bamford on loan would do me just fine!!

Bamford on loan or buy Kodjia? If given the choice obviously.

McCormack SIGNING FOR US £14MILLION MEDICAL TOMMOROW :)

Aston Villa have agreed a deal worth £14 million for Fulham striker Ross McCormack, HITC Sport understands.

HITC Sport now understands that McCormack is due to have a medical in Birmingham on Wednesday ahead of completing his move in time to be involved for Villa this weekend, as they open their Championship campaign at Sheffield Wednesday.

The news will be a huge boost to Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo, who is set to lose key defender Ciaran Clark to Newcastle this week.

66 goals in 3 seasons????

That's prodigious even for a lower league. So the question is how he gets those goals? I know nothing of him it all but if he's like Gestede and they're all off his head, he'll not work. If he needs a created midfield behind him then we'll obviously need to buy there too. Or is he like a Benteke that can do it all on his own?

As for the links to Leicester, on the surface it might seem a stupid move but there are a whole raft of reasons why a player would go to club X instead of Y. Money, more guaranteed playing time, less pressure, family in the area...

But it looks like there's a deal to be done here and if he is a 20 goal a season striker then that's a major piece in a rather underwhelming puzzle.

Lets get it over the line 1st but i would be delighted with this, Appears it's the daily mail saying it's got this far though so i will hold off the celebrations just yet.

Well it looks like it's gonna be Mccormack then. I admit for a good while when we were linked with him I questioned the logic in spending 12-14m on a 29 year old. But on reflection, I've thought about the impact another 29 year old had on his teams success last season, one Jamie Vardy, and perhaps Mccormack could be a similar influence on our quest to get back to the promise land?!! I'd bloody hope so for that sort of money .

14m would surely be a record for a championship club? And if so it sends a big message to our rivals and also makes Xia's ambitious statements much more valid.

Hopefully this is just the start of four or so signings. Right-back, Centre-back, Attacking midfielder and maybe another winger would be nice.

Guzan, Richardson, Zoggy, Robinson, Gana, Siegrist, Kinsella, Donacien, Clark (hopefully) are gone so things are looking up. And hopefully more will follow too.
