Ciaran Clark
He's made the Eurosport European team of the week alongside Pique and Alba (also featuring Ronado and Messi) - I shit you not, check the Hutton thread.
And this gif is rather mesmerising, no?

Re: Ciaran Clark
Ha, yes it is.
I'm glad he's playing well - I did say on here recently that I generally have called most of our young players pretty accurately but I feel like I got Clark horribly wrong, as I was a huge fan of his when I watched him regularly in the reserves. So I've been more frustrated with him than most in recent seasons.

Deserves to be in the European team of the week for the tackle he made after the Westwood injury if nothing else. Get the ball and then put the man on his arse - that's how its done.

Re: Ciaran Clark
I thought he would go on to be another Cahill when he was captaining the reserves, and he"d got just a touch of the Bobby Moore"s about him. My lad's have laughed at me every time I've mentioned that he'll come good again. Chris Herd was another who impressed me in the reserves when he played a central midfield role, the guy may have had his problems but anyone who watched that demolition of the Arsenal reserves a few seasons back will know what he's capable of!kimbo wrote:Ha, yes it is.

Yes, I too had the highest hopes for Clark but had just about given up on him. But he's done better recently so hopefully he's getting back on track.
I think Okore looks like the real deal too.

Re: Ciaran Clark
Okore has a touch of class about him. He and Clark seem to go together seamlessly. Maybe that's because both are playing on their natural side, so it's a comfortable fit.Mazrim wrote:Yes, I too had the highest hopes for Clark but had just about given up on him. Re: Ciaran Clark
So what's the betting that tomorrow Vlaar will be back and Okore will be out ?

Re: Ciaran Clark
Clark is naturally left sided Okore is naturally right sided. Media seem to think that Vlaar will play but he's also right sided, so Vlaar /Okore will leave Cissokho more isolated (imo).

Re: Ciaran Clark
I dunno, Vlaar does fine on the left and played there for most of his time in Holland. I just don't think either of the lads deserve to be dropped.

Re: Ciaran Clark
Lambert can't drop either of them. They've been almost flawless and it's now their top to lose.
And if Lambert gives the nod to a player that has given every indication that he wants out over a player who's been upset at not playing then....well, it'll be a mistake that he'll just admit he's made and that'll be A-Ok with Lerner!
