Just been looking at our fixtures. If we get 6 points from Bolton and Burton we should theoretically be 5th or 6th ish. We then go into a couple of tough not as but if we can get to January in contention it looks like we can really build up a head of steam from there. If we're within 6 or 9 points of automatic promotion come new year's day it is well within the realms of possibility we could really still win this thing.

If there is a silver lining to our weak start, it is that I do not believe that this season will see two/three teams running away with contesting the automatic promotion places like last year. Leeds and Wolves will have some poor spells and Cardiff have already shown signs of wobbling.
Villa can get a play off place, despite Bruce. Not expecting classy football though.

The great thing about the Burton win (& i live here in Burton btw) was that they actually feel they played well AND WE STILL BEAT THEM 4-0!! It was a great night as me & my daughter were sat at home (Couldn't get a ticket as sold out) with the window open just listening to the Villa fans singing! I can 100% confirm that i have not heard ANY set of fans that loud at the Pirelli stadium. I live about a mile & a half from the ground btw and it was echoing around our housing estate loud & clear!

One other point, there was about a 1 minute delay between Villa scoring and the BBC website showing the update, we were hearing the roar as we scored and then watching to see if it was another Villa goal or not!

So 1.6 point per game average at the moment another 3 wins in a row would put us at that magical 2 points a game level which would be an amazing achievement.
7 points off top spot and 4 points from 2nd spot! A fabulous week.
