He's going to West Brom, even if we did sign him, what would we do, play him and one of Whelan and Jedinak in midfield? that midfield would be way to slow, and we're not going to leave both Jedinak and Whelan on the bench, in fact when Jedinak's fit, I'm sure Bruce is going to play them both.

We've got our old heads, in midfield, we don't need anymore, in fact we don't need anymore midfielders full stop, but that's not stopping us being linked to Jack Wilshere.

If he could stay fit, he could do the job that Lansbury's meant to be doing only so much better, but I doubt we're really in for him, given the number of midfielders we already have, unless Bruce wants him to play the 'no 10' with Onomah playing deeper. It would probably have to be another loan though.

It is a smoke screen to cover up how much of a useless twunt Bruce is!! I wonder if Tony has been getting pointers from HDE? Look over here you thick fans I am holding something shiny to look at instead of the pile of poo on the pitch every week?

What is the point of signing Wilshire under Bruce unless Wenger wants him to become so demoralized with attacking football he wants to end it all!

I didn't realize he only needed 4 more games to equal and 5 to go top. Quite an achievement! Summer transfer window 2017/18 - Page 38 4025243045

See we are being linked with Jack Colback at Barcodes as he hasn't even made Rafa Prem squad?

He is just a younger version of Whelan I think? And how many midfielders do we need?

the player at villa are good enough for this division, we don't need anymore, we cant sell the rubbish players we have, if we go up who would buy then, Bruce should use the younger players, ,Rhodes is just another poor striker we don't need

Apparently SKy are saying that we're in discussions with Southampton for year long loan for Gallagher. I had a look on a Blackburn forum when we were linked previously, and one of the common themes seemed to be that he's not very good when the ball's played long to him, so it that's what we're buying him for, it might not be the best idea.

All in all, though, I do think he's a good player, from what I've seen.

Xia did deny the link a few weeks back though, so we will have to see what happens.

If we could get him on loan I think it would be excellent business, as I was very impressed with him whenever I saw him last season, although I felt that he tailed off towards the end of the season but he is still relatively young and still learning.

Only bad thing about it, is that it would perhaps indicate that Bruce isn't going anywhere, at least for the time being.

I still cannot understand why we haven't got a left winger or number ten type. It's not like we're creating chance after chance ffs.

If we sign Colback or are even interested in doing so, I think I'll lose faith in those running the club, in fact I think I'd blame Round/Wyness more so than Bruce, for letting him make the signing, and for not replacing him before he could make the signing. It's not so much that he's a bad player, it's that he's the last type of player that we need.

Tactical changes are as important as any new signings. Scott Hogan, for example, should be playing the Vardy role. He is quick (when not injured) and likes it to feet. We should be slipping him through instead of blasting it at him and expecting him to hold it up. I swear to McGrath that, never in football history, have so many players been owed an opportunity to be played in their natural role/position by one manager and his coaching team........ (with apology to Winston Churchill).

Green was the best player on the pitch by a country mile against Reading, he just needs to be coached well, although at the moment there's little point in him sending in crosses at anything higher than shin height. The number 10 is an issue though, it will be Grealish and O'Hare looks like he could be very exciting but I can see Bruce continuing to play Onomah, even though he looked uncomfortable at Reading. In fact I'm sure he played Gabby behind Onomah, which makes no sense at all. Onomah is 20 and O'Hare is 19. I'm still not sure why we borrowed him from Spurs at the expense of playing Hourihane or even Lansbury. Yes, Lansbury. I'm pretty sure we all want a settled team, unlike the ones Garde, Sherwood and RDM put out where there were lots of different names on the team sheet every week. Unless we sell him, Lansbury is going to be at the club next year, as is Hourihane, so why not actually play them where they're supposed to be played, bench Whelan and Jedi until we have a lead we need to protect, get Hourihane, Lansbury, O'Hare etc working as part of the team and stick Onomah on the bench?

Ignoring defence this would work for me:

Hogan
O'Hare
Green Hourihane Lansbury Adomah

Note the complete lack of Gabby. Audrey and/or Davis on the bench.

Edit: I'd actually prefer to see a 4-5-1 with no Whelan or Jedi but it seems Bruce is hell bent on playing 4-4-1-1 no matter which players are available to him.

That would work for me as well @FoxyAV.
Now that Hogan is injured I would try Davis up there as he holds the ball up better than anybody else we have and therefore brings other players (namely midfield players) into the game.

Having said that Bruce is never going to drop Whelan! Summer transfer window 2017/18 - Page 38 1327487109
