Kojdia's probably our best player the vultures haven't swooped for him, either, doesn't make him not really our best player.
If Villa put the squad up for sale Grealish would be one of the players we'd be able to sell the easiest.
Disagree 100%, but what else is new.
Oh well, lets have another season of Grealish doing fuck all continued by another summer in 2018 with excuses for him.
And yet you were full of praise for Agbonlahor at the weekend, there's a player who's done nothing in recent times; comparatively speaking Grealish hasn't even had a chance yet.

I was and I've also been highly critical of Gabby for years. But he has knuckled down and looks the part now. Grealish doesn't and except of 45 minutes against sha, never has. And there lies the problem.
I tend to call it as it is, and I don't see why Grealish should get 200 chances when we hardly give other academy products a single one. Fact is that Grealish has been hyped a lot, he has play a lot, and he has largely been shit.
Grealish is one of those players that will never make it, never perform consistently and always have fans ready with excuses. Reminds me of that french midfielder everyone went daft about, Berson or whatever his name was.
If he proves me incorrect great, but he won't.

Well, Grealish was our second highest scorer last season, despite not being played all the time and always out of position. But facts and statistics aren't relevant here.

Yeah 5 goals in 33 matches for the worst Villa side in 40 years, while doing absolutely fuck all defensive work and being an utter liability, and few fluke goals as well.
Yeah them statistics sure are what you make them.

Re: Summer transfer window 2017/18
Most of those 33 games were him coming on as a sub in the last quarter of games, if you work it out in terms of minutes on the pitch, it's actually more like 20 games, that's a goal every four games (they were all pretty decent as well), not bad for a midfielder at the best of times, even better for one playing in one of the most negative sides in the division.
He's not a world beater, or even as good as we'd hoped he'd be, but he's still too good for us to be turning our noses up at him.
He's injured now, so nothing we can do about that, best just to concentrate on who's going to replace him in the side. Jota, Snodgrass and Lawrence are all being mentioned, but I'm not sure if we're going to be spending that kind of money; probably saving it for January in case we have a new manager then.

Here we go again, its "Grealish is crap" "Grealish is great" time, we can discuss till the cows come home BUT we all know he has talent what he needs to do is show it week in week out, which we all have to admit he doesn't and don't start with the out of position or on the bench remarks cos with all his talent if he showed it he would be in the team every week end of BUT HES NOT AND WE ALL KNOW WHY, HE DOESN'T DO ENOUGH IN GAMES. end of.

Cisshoko set to sign for Yeni Malatyaspor, on Wednesday according to the Mirror, hopefully we can start moving on a few others as well.

I thought he'd gone weeks ago. That is the most unexciting transfer news this window. Still I guess if we get his wages off the books it helps.

To be fair if we get rid of McCormack and Elphick as well, we've done well this window. Bacuna and Richards is mission impossible I guess.

Grealish remindse of one of those kids you see in outdoor shopping malls who can do some absolutely stunning keepy uppies. Lovely....but what else you got, kid?
Can't tackle. Can't thread a killer pass. Rarely shoots. If not for his stupid hair and socks, no-one would have noticed him. He's a bit of a nothing footballer with the very odd flash of brilliance.
I hope he proves me wrong but I'm 90% sure he won't.

Don't think that McCormack will go till the end of the transfer window as teams realise they are desperate for a striker (or we are just desperate to get rid of him)!
Still need to get rid of a few more as well!

Re: Summer transfer window 2017/18
Whether Grealish is good, bad or indifferent we cannot pick him for 3 months now so the question is does Bruce rely on an academy product which is a big risk or does he buy someone with some experience? Personally I would prefer a signing with experience? May be a loan till Christmas? Then see what happens?

It's unfortunate thing for Grealish, a freakish but nasty injury but beyond that I'm not sure how much it's going to affect the coming season.
We are talking about a player who started 20 league games last season with another 11 sub appearances and, to borrow a phrase, didn't pull up any trees.
And this pre-season had the same "Big season for Jack, this, gotta start fulfilling the potential","Time for him to grow up and step up" and "Gotta show he wants it, looks like he thinks he's already made it" is being written - and not without justification.
So that's what we've lost until maybe Christmas. A player who may have been useful but still hasn't made himself indispensable by a long way. He's far from the first name on the teamsheet even when fit, I'm not even sure how much Bruce fancies him.m

Re: Summer transfer window 2017/18
We were the 4th worst at goalscoring last season. Kjodia is injured for around the first month. I really fail to see where a hefty increase in goals is coming from. Sure Whelan and Elmo might provide some improvement in this area - but an extra 20-25 goals ? - Im just not seeing it.
Thats going to be our stumbling block this year- without another striker we are struggling to score goals IMO.

Bruce had better start setting up the team to play to Hogan's strengths then. I suspect we'll see him and Gabby up front together and we'll just have to cross our fingers.

Being linked with Hernandez again
Wouldn't be a bad signing if we could get him
Some South American flare wouldn't go astray on our team

What do we lose in Grealish?
Our 2nd top goal scorer yes but that's not saying much really. He was largely anonymous in those games outside of scoring. Assists? He got 2. Adomah got 3 goals but 10 assists. Gestede got 4 goals and 1 fucking assist and we sold him in January!!

The young Uruguayan forward Abel Hernández, 26 years and member of the Uruguay national team, is located in the city of London, waiting for the details remaining to sign his contract that linked him for 3 seasons with Aston Villa of England.
Steve Bruce, current coach of Aston Villa called the signing of the footballer who led in the 2015-2016 season, when Abel scored 23 goals at Hull City and managed to return to the Premier League.

Would be a weird signing at the moment. But he is left footed which is nice.
Can't see it happening personally.

Hopefully not, it would be nice to win at least one match before the new year.

Any idea if this Hernandez link is legit or waffle? I would love to see him sign and think he would be amazing alongside Kodjia, certain promotion if we get him.
