It certainly seems to signify that Bruce is going to be given at least another season which personally I don't agree with but fair enough, just don't mess about and give him the complete season, for good or worse!

Cannot believe the alleged interest in "Jordan- the most caught out of position full back in the history of full back-ery - Amavi".
A quick look at his recent lows on video should result in any offer being reduced to 4p and some Morrison's vouchers.

Rumours from Bristol that Alan Hutton is in talks to joing City.

If correct, I wish him all the best, as he has never moaned once with all the shit he has had to put up with at Villa.

I'd agree with that. Personally I think he's an awful awful player, but his attitude is top notch. If our squad had half his attitude in 2015/2016 we would never have been relegated.

Wyness has said that we're going to be signing 'exciting youth' and what 'Bruce would call real men'. The second part of that sentence makes me think that we're probably going to be going for a few players that he's worked with in the past.

It's so boring at the moment, feels like ages since our season ended, still more than two months to go until the new one beings. No takeover rumours, or new manager searches, or international tournaments, this summer either.
Really hope things start happening on the transfer front soon.

Looks like fatty mccakemack is staying. I really don't think we need another striker. If we go int9 the season with Hogan, mccormack, kodjia when fit backed up with Davies Hepburn Murphy and mckirdy well be OK up there. Means we can focus on the key issues of centre back and defensive kiddies a bit more and go for more quality there. Mckirdy certainly seems to know how to score goals at u21 level

McKirdy did well in last years Hong Kong 7s as well, but if I recall didn't get anywhere near the first team squad, and he's in his twenties now, I think he'll probably either leave the club or go out on loan, same with Calder and Lyden. Interesting that we haven't released our 'retained list' yet.

The football calendar hasn't even finished yet. Still got the play-off finals tomorrow which I will be keeping an eye on. And of course, the champions league final is around the corner too. Once those two games are out of the way, then hopefully we'll start to hear a little more from our club on the transfer front.

Yeah, I realise it's normal for it to be quiet this time of year on the transfer front. It's the first time in a long time that there's been no takeover or new manager speculation in the summer so it feels quieter than normal. I guess once we reach July things will start livening up with pre-season and the 'window' opening, maybe a few deals, especially outgoing will be announced before then, as well.

Re: Summer transfer window 2017/18
Think it's July the 1st isn't it when the window officially opens? As for players contracts ending is it 30th June? So will be all BS & click bait up until then most likely.
One thing that really does my head in is all the ridiculous rumours which try to pit us against either Newcastle, Sha or as appears to be the current favourite Wolves in some fakery "Bidding war battle" for player "x". All no doubt a pathetic attempt to get clicks from fans of both clubs...(I never do by the way...Click them that is )

I'm just gonna try and enjoy the transfers that go in and out of the club this summer. A potential "manager search" could come as soon as six to ten games into next season. Either he does well or he's gone, so either way, we can't lose .

Re: Summer transfer window 2017/18
I'm looking forward to seeing who we do actually go for; Wyness saying that we're only looking to buy three or four, but that we're probably going to be the biggest spenders in the Championship suggests to me that we're going to be pretty ambitious with our targets, whoever they are they're going to cost a bit of money.
I've a feeling we'll go for a bunch of promising younger players in a similar vein as Bedeau, as well, to go into the u23s.

Yes it will be interesting to see whose career Bruce is going to murder next?

Just took this from another forum...
It could of course be another fake 'ITK' account, but doing a reverse image check on his profile picture it looks like he's used his actual picture.
Edit: It's not his actual picture it's someone from the pop group '21 pilots' who happens to be called Tyler Joseph, can probably discount the above tweets

I read that from top to bottom and was confused like nothing else.
After reading it correctly I'm still confused.

He's saying that there's been a disagreement over the future of some our players and the board aren't happy about it, and as a consequence may take 'major action'.
I've no idea who the disagreement is between though, and who the board might take action against.
Of course it could all just be made up.

Can't see how the words "upset board" & "controversial movement" could apply too strongly to Gabby, Richards & Bunn.

Wyness has been fined £10,000 and suspended from all 'Aston Villa activity' for three weeks by the FA, for a retweet which stated that refs in the championship have disabilities.
Wonder if that will affect our dealings.

Re: Summer transfer window 2017/18
Apparently we're signing Vegard Forren on a free transfer, he's a central defender. He spent a year at both Southampton and Brighton, but didn't make any appearences for them. He's 29, so if true, seems a bit of a strange one.

Re: Summer transfer window 2017/18
Reports from Norway suggest 29 year old centre-back Vergard Forren is set to sign for us on a free transfer. He was at Brighton on loan for the latter part of the season but didn't manage to make an appearance. Also in his past he was at Southampton but again didn't get any game time.
People are already moaning about this potential deal but imo it makes sense. Elphick is likely to be leaving and hopefully Richards follows him too. That would only leave us with Chester and Baker as first team centre-backs, so bringing a bloke who got 33 caps for Norway isn't such a bad move I think. He's a lefty aswell so would probably be Baker's back-up.
Many fans want to see Baker replaced but on reflection the partnership he had with Chester towards the end of the season was magnificent. SEVEN clean sheets in thirteen games is top class stuff. And I'm guessing Bruce wants to keep that backline together for the next campaign. And if we get a decent keeper aswell then it should be even better.
Forren and another loan centre-half maybe and then the defence should be settled and we can spend our money on the attack and midfield.
