Was amazed to hear Alan Brazil on Talksport talking about the team from 1980 and stating that we've not had a 20 goal a season striker since Peter Withe.

I had thought maybe Yorke did but for a club of our size we need one

It's actually true for purely league goals. All competitions Yorke, Angel, Bent and Benteke scored 20 but league alone Benteke came closest with 19.

20 goal a seaon strikers are still a valuable commodity

I don't think it's that hard to achieve if you have a good team, especially if the striker in question takes penalties as well. Our biggest problem is that we've been shit for way too long. I'd bet Bent would have gotten 20 if we had him in the MON era. Same goes for Benteke.

It's amazing if Tekkers got 19 for us really, considering how bad that side was.
