MMmmmmm a defence with one ancient midfielder in front of it and five powder puff attackers???? It is like Kevin Keegan on crack!
Especially when our midfielders have more assists this year for the opposition than their own attackers? 9 against 13 is never going to end up well?

Is it a coincidence that the defence has improved since Elphick came out of it? I don't think so. Chester and Baker look much more solid Imo and I think my initial concerns about making Elphick captain have come home to roost now. Bruce will soon have a big call to make when Elphick is fit again and I trust that he will make the right one by retaining the current partnership.

Centre backs are all about pairings and who compliments each other? From what I have read Baker and Chester fit this bill? Elphick will have a job to break them up IMO and I can see SB keeping TE on the sidelines until needed which he definitely will be before Christmas. I hope this motivates our captain?

I think Bruce will understand the importance of CB partnerships and I also suspect that his attitude will be that the shirt is Baker's to lose.

For a variety of reasons it never seems to happen for Baker. He was fantastic yesterday - but needs to keep us this form and stay injury free - if he does Im pretty sure he keeps the shirt - hes very much a CB in the Steve Bruce mold.
