Re: Rotherham Match Thread
rMac hatrick 4-0 win.
After a disappointing 1st 2 games the penny has dropped for the coaching staff that this squad is not good enough and the Luton game was blessing in disguise for me.
Would like to give Toner a shot a RB (not sure if he qualifies as a u21 if not in full squad, is he out on load?), Hutton is simply not good enough and for me (don't blast me) Richards has not been at professional std for atleast 5 years, shouldn't even make the bench. I'm starting Chester too.
No point fielding RG unless we play with wingers so he's out.
Tshibola and Westwood(for now) should start behind a 3 of Grealish, Veretout and Ayew, we don't have many options, or maybe Ayew in the middle with Green on the right.
So
Gollini
Toner Elphick Chester Amavi(fuck it at 50% he's better)
Westwood Tshibola
Ayew Veretout Grealish
rMac
Lets hope this is the turning point and TX also manages to magic in out top targets.

Re: Rotherham Match Thread
Watching Brighton ruin Forest on the counter last night, we need to be prepared for playing against that. Defensively, we're so fragile right now.
Anyway.... I think result depends on who scores first. Villa take the lead today, Villa win today but not without conceding along the way. If Rotherham take the lead, they stick a couple past us with no response and lack of confidence turns into a suicidal second half.
I honestly hope we're talking in more positive terms come the final whistle.

Toner is left footed, not sure I'd ever be confident playing an inexperienced youngster out of position And on his weaker side

Sky saying Chester is not available today, I thought we had made the deadline, unless its a fitness/lack of training with the team. Mind you our defence is so rubbish even someone who has not played together would be better.

I do not want to see Gestede, Bacuna, Hutton, Richards, Lescott, Gabby, Westwood or Gardner. If anyone is on the pitch I'm just turning it off.

Big indicator of RDM ability 7 thinking now. He may not have his preferred team together yet but if the Luton game was about giving some players a final testing, then this is the game where we see what changes he makes (tactics & personnel) over the SW game (which wasn't a complete disaster but needed improvement).

His right foot is better then Hutton and Richards combined and any of our under 12's would cope better then them

It's not on TV on my neck of the woods so I'll be relying on the Mobdro app. Problem is there's so many sports channels I wouldn't know where to start looking.
So can anyone tell me if it's on TV there? Might be a good starting place.

So apart from being at the game, how is everybody keeping up to date with the score on this?

Team sheet revealed
I'd be very surprised if RDM plas 442 with that team now. To me it looks like 433 tbh.
.....................Gollini....................
..Bacuna...Elphick...Chester...Cissokho...
..............Tshibola..Westwood....
.....................Greslish..........
............Mccormack...Ayew.............
......................Gestede..............
Would probably have chosen Amavi instead but all in all at least he's going for it. And I must say it's nice to see fans generally agree with the teams being picked these days rather than the consistent meltdowns that took place before every game last season.
Gollini
Cissokho
Bacuna
Elphick
Chester
Tshibola
Westwood
Grealish
Ayew
McCormack
Gestede
Subs: Adama, Bunn, Green, Hutton, Gardner, Amavi, Richards

Sod that then, I'm off to bed.
Chris, I think the BBC has text commentary but that's all I could see.
Melt-down or relief tomorrow? Can't help but think if it's melt-down, Dr.Tony will go spunk so more money.

I'm hoping for relief... but then again, I normally do and seldom get it. A victory would be most greatly appreciated.
I'm working on the link right now. Give me 5 mins and I'll see what I can do!

Gestede, Bacuna, Westwood and Cissokho. I'm back in 100 minutes to observe the inevitable loss of points.
