What will Villa's next spend this summer
Predicted Net Spend
I wonder what our net spend will be this summer. Xia is rumoured to have promised £30m plus we are probably going to recoup around that in player sales.

As of today we have spent around £3m on Tommy Elphick

Zero - profit I reckon. Or in that ballpark anyway.
We've been linked with expensive buys like Pantilimon and Brady and that would be great signings for us, but if that were to happen I think Guzan and Amavi would be sold. I just can't see us spending more than what we get in atm.

Depends what you call expensive. I couldn't really see Pantilmon costing more that £2m ?
I do take youre general point - I feel we will receive large fee's for Ayew, Gana, and Amavi

I think Watford bought him last January for £ 8 million. With the new TV-deal I can't see him going for less than £ 8 million.

Apologies seems I've got the numbers all wrong. According to some Sunderland fans his transfer was under £ 1 million.

Re: Predicted Net Spend
I voted 10-20m based on what we bring in from sales and who we can realistically attract in our current position. In addition I see RDM and Clarke as pretty shrewd and will not take huge risks on big contracts until our income significantly increases.

NET SPEND ?
This topic is "NET SPEND"
That means Sales v Buys...equals a Net Spend ????
You sell £20 mill and you buy £23 mill...NET SPEND IS £3mil.Is that it ?
Allowing for the 2/3 year payments on fees, we are talking about ...HERE...black and white transactions in ONE GO.
OK.... Net Spend .. imo...
ZERO
Promised £80 million..then £30 million....spent £2.75 million ...gained no income on sales so far, so...SO... so...
Doesn't anyone ant Gabby ?

Re: Predicted Net Spend
My opinion is that it will be difficult to see a big net spend, considering that a number of players will be departing that I believe will be worth something the likes of Gana, Ayew, Richards, Guzan etc. We need to take a lesson from last season and bring in the right players but also don't make wholesale changes at then it takes so much longer to gel.

Actually thinking about it, I was going to say £350 million per week, but apparently that's earmarked for the NHS.....
