It's shit being a Villa fan

I wish I had a more constructive OP, that I'd backed up this cry of anguish with some erudite statement that bore witness to my angst, that I could regale you all with a cutting witticism that captures the very essence of my statement, but no, I can't.

I'm halfway through a very large bottle of Jack Daniels Honey, and that's all I have to say -  a primordial cry of anguish borne out of the last few years of false hopes, false dawns, false messiahs, and - as I approach retirement - false teeth.

Life is shit when you are a Villa fan - I wish it was otherwise, but it's not.

Spent the whole of yesterday afternoon and evening in the British Embassy Riyadh Saudi Arabia watching the rugby and having a few jars. I didn't look at the football results till I returned home at 1pm. That's how I feel about the Villa at the moment totally disinterested.

At least we are the only teams not performing at the moment, England were rubbish!

Second biggest city in the country and can't fill the stadium for toffee. Just sad from start to finish. Shit owner, shit manager, shit whatever Tom Fox is. Sack them all.

I was just thinking about how far we've fallen in terms of footballing ability since 2010. Guess this is what you get when an owner asset strips a football club. Sad times.

We are lucky we support one of the greatest clubs in the world, and attracting new overseas fans all the time. Surely we have learned to take the rough with the smooth by now. Success will come I am sure of it - when? who knows, but I remain optimistic.

Supporting a team is nothing like a marriage. If you don't like the slag you can get a new one.

We've been sleeping in separate rooms for a while now but I still get the call to "come and watch" at midnight each Saturday.

This week just gone I couldn't be bothered watching the live show so just reviewed a recording over breakfast. Much more of this and I'll just enjoy breakfast and the newspaper.

This marriage is just shit.

And what makes it worse is her ugly, inbred sister who's sleeping with some shifty Chinese sugarbag, will probably get a promotion this year and lord it over us.

Not that it's that interesting, but our all time Premier League goal difference is now negative by 27. Pretty indicative of how well run of a club we have.

Ditto here, i actually didn't check the result at all as i 100% knew it would be another loss against Chelsea, and will be against Swansea, i don't like the team it's boring, unexciting and frankly awful to watch. The Strikers are pants and have just one hope which is to plant a perfect ball on top of Gestede's head and hope!

Grim and i have no hope of it improving in time to save the club this season.

I hope and pray we somehow steal a win, confidence goes up and things drastically improve but 35 years of BS and false dawns under Ellis and the current owner says otherwise.

On the other hand my own recollection of those days is largely positive - imagine winning most games, taking over grounds with masses of away fans, breaking League 1 attendance records, scoring goals for fun.

Got a feeling that we maybe re-living those times in a few years. It wasn't all bad.
