Penalty Taker

With Benteke all but gone, dependant on which strikers are incoming, who will step up to take our spot kicks?

Hopefully not Ashley Westwood. I imagine his penalties are as tame as his set pieces!

I'd presume Gil would be most reliable in terms of putting the ball wherever he wants to. Put then some players just don't like penalties.

I'd give it to whatever striker we sign.

Apparently Bacuna never missed a single penalty at his old club so he'd be an obvious choice. Although i think it depends on the next signings we bring in...Austin takes pens and any other striker we bring in might be the same so we'll just have to wait and see.

I read an article about penalties and their takers in the Prem last February. It was quite detailed and finished with the one line "except of course for Villa who haven't been awarded a single penalty so far this season".

Guzan. Obviously some fundamental kicking issues to sort first but.....

Not really a coincidence that Lambert left in Feb and we got our first pen soon after.

That's sorted then Jordan Ayew is the man, 12 million bid accepted, takes a lovely penalty.

I wonder if we weren't awarded that clear-cut penalty on Friday because Mike Dean didn't think we had anyone good enough to take it?

Having watched it back I don't think he's interested in saving our embarrassment, I think the knob head is BLIND 8)

Never get anything against utd. Richards could have been shot hung drawn and quartered and it still would not have been a penalty in Mike (guide dog) Deans eyes.

Bournemouth suffered the same fate against the bin dippers last night.

Shocking decision yesterday. Like Howe said, the new rule was introduced to stop goals like that from happening. If it was the other way round I'm sure the linesman would have flagged for Bournemouth.
