Why Aston Villa IS a good investment opportunity to the right people
In all the current gloom surrounding Villa, it's more apparent than ever that we need a new direction which only truly comes from new ownership. So here is a open prospectus to anyone serious about purchasing what remains a very special Football institution. The secret in making a good deal is often what you buy something for and I believe Villa is good value if purchased for £120M- (Obviously with Premiership status secured) Here are the reasons why:
1. Worldwide Brand Name performing in the most watched, valuable professional football league in the World- 804 million homes in 212 countries with an estimated 1 billion followers. The growing popularity of the Premier League, the highly competitive UK Pay-TV market and the closed bid auction process for domestic and international media rights have driven dramatic increases in guaranteed revenue streams for Premier league teams.
2. A famous name in Professional football and a founder member of the Professional football league in England.
3. A glittering past as the club has won 19 major domestic trophies and reached the pinnacle of the European game, winning the European Cup in 1982 (One of only 5 English teams to ever achieve this feat)
4. Aston Villa remains the 5th most decorated club in English Football History.
5. Aston Villa is one of only 7 clubs to have remained an ever present in The English Premier League since its inception in 1992.
6. Aston Villa plays its home matches (Since 1897) at Villa Park which is one of the most visited and memorable football grounds in the World. It has staged 16 England International matches, 55 FA Cup Semi Finals and the 2012 FA Community Shield. Villa Park is based on a 16 acre site and has ample footprint for expansion and development.
7. Aston Villa is based in Birmingham, the second largest city in the UK, with a population of over 3.5 million living within 15 miles of the city centre.
8. Aston Villa has an established supporter base of over almost 3 million worldwide with 170 official supporter clubs globally.
9. World class, state of the art, training facility (Bodymoor Heath) covering 50 acres with facilities including 8 full sized and 4 small sized grass pitches, 2 floodlit artificial pitches, an indoor centre and swimming pool.
10. An opportunity to purchase all of the above at a reasonable price as the club has struggled in recent times due to poor, unsuitable direction which has led to the current owner being motivated to sell. With the potential the club has, the market value can be increased substantially over a period of time with a strategy more in keeping with modern football and a club the size of Aston Villa. Tottenham Hotspur was recently valued at around the £600M figure. They are no bigger and as recently as 2010 did not have better results post 1992 (Premiership years). Yes its in London and certainly has progressed away from Villa in the last 5 years. However with top management in key areas, implementing a structure and style on the pitch to reawaken the club, supported by initial investment in the right type and age of player then Aston Villa’s value could soon start to once more soar away from its current market value which makes it a good investment opportunity for the right people. Let us not forget what a unique name it is, not a United, not a City but Aston Villa, the team of Prince William, David Cameron, Mervyn King and Tom Hanks (Likes the name!) hence proves the point of the unique nature of the brand.
So in these dark times let us not forget what a unique, magnificent football club this is, that anyone should be honoured to own and privileged to manage and play for. Often in the face of adversity, comes huge opportunity.

Well said Howard, nice to remember there are actually positives during these times. Thanks for the article, it's a good read. Begs the question, why have we not been snapped up yet? Surely this summer?
I've long been of the belief that maybe Randy has a few clauses added in to any sale that may deter certain bidders (Very rich people, don't like to be dictated too) only speculating of course, I just can't see why someone hasn't already taken a chance on us...
Aston Villa, Aston Villa FC, we're by far the greatest team, the world has ever seen....

Good stats from HH, only one thing .... The fact is that since the demise of bcfc, Aston Villa now own the city of Birmingham, the vibrant cosmopolitan hub of the UK. Forget Spurs and London Howard, Birmingham is the best place to be. We've got the huge catchment area that HH mentioned and no competition. Spurs are squeezed by Arsenal and West Ham, Villa have the UK's Venice all to ourselves. Three cheers for Birmingham and the mighty Aston Villa!
