Stan Petrov - reason for leaving.
This has been posted in another thread but is rekindled here to see if anyone has heard anymore.
We were told at Palace that Stan left because Lambert took no notice of any of his suggestions.
I have just had a message to say that:
That's cleared a layer out between lambert and the players....there's a bloke here told me the other week that xxxxxx was at a function and was not very complimentary about lamberts style - no engagement to anybody elses ideas and he was also always right - so something will give.
That must confirm that Lambert has something to answer for the hostile atmosphere at BH.

Well there have been plenty of stories going around that McLeishbert locks himself away in an office all day, and that Culverhouse and Karsa handled the players (very badly) on a day to day basis so that could make some sense.
I get the feeling that Sid will be managing this side from here on in.

It's interesting (if not particularly pleasant) to hear that. I did hear that it was Stan who had a big part in us signing Tonev. Maybe he had an issue with how he was coached and used.

Sid obviously carries the Gold Card in the club now. Don't be surprised if Kevin Mac returns in the near future.

I'd be happy with that. I think giving him the manager's job was a mistake but KMac was an excellent coach.

Aye, can't argue with his record. And thanks for the heads-up TBE.

Did Kevin Mac want to try management on his own or was it Lambert wanted either him or Sid to go?

Lambert interviewed the two of them for one post. The one that was not successful had to go.

In that case Kevin Mac was a needless loss to the club.

Sounds like he was pushed out by an egotistical manager.Wookster wrote:I didnt realise Stan had left, so out of the loop up here in Leeds

Maybe Stan wasn't cut out to be a coach. Not all good players progress to the backroom. We all wanted him to stay because of the personal story. But players and coaches come and go all the time.
Although it would be a crying shame if he popped up coaching somewhere else and turned out to be good.

Just our luck.
All the very best to him whatever he decides to do.
