Current form - Games to play!!!

Assuming that Hull are probably safe and Sunderland are probably gone, the current form for the rest of us isn't looking good for us!!!

You might point out that we beat Chelsea the game before this 4 game run, so why didn't I count it? Well, i'm hardly doing Villa a disservice but counting a run of 4 games that includes Stoke and Fulham at home and Palace away am I??

Fulham - (a) Spurs, (h) Hull, (a) Stoke, (h) Palace.

Not looking good for Norwich.
Maybe Sunderland will go on a run and help us out, but I doubt it!!!

A lot of the lower clubs have to play each other, including us (v Hull and Swansea), so I reckon one more win will make us safe. Trouble is I don't fancy us to beat anyone at the moment.

There's a lot of rumours and Lambert apparently very nearly let something slip in the interview after the dross of today.

I'd get rid of him now, put Sid in as temporary manager and pull the team together for the last few games. It's going to be close this season. More worrying than last year by a long way

I have backed Lambert all the way, I have been one of the positive ones, but I would sack him today and get Cowans to take us to the end of the season. It seems to me that Lambert has run out of ideas, yes he has been unlucky with some key injuries. But I would rather one of the kids given a chance up front than Holt. One more win, but where is it coming from?

Sorry to say, Lambert out and hope Lerner is also out in this takeover that only this site has mentioned. Please be true!!

Why was Robinson not on the bench? Injured or a victim of the Cuntyhouse/Cowans rift?

There is no room for upcoming players when you have world class superstars like Jordan Bowery on the bench.

All my life villa were a popular team and neutrals or dans of other clubs would talk to me about good players we had or games they had seen us and been impressed.

Now all I get is 'I saw yee against x and thought villa were awful, couldn't believe how laboured it was' etc. I think a lot of people would love to see us go down.

It's a catch 22. The fans are needed to help us to safety but the fans will be aching to let the hierarchy no that they have had enough of this shit.

Wouldn't surprise me if something happens this week to be honest. They might decide that we have a better chance with Sid to finish the season.

The players do not seem to be playing for the current set up as suggested in other threads

We'd have a better chance with my cat in charge but she's usually busy on Saturdays.

The Palace players certainly seemed pleased to see him.

If the fans get behind the team on Saturday then we will win, no probs.
The whole ground needs to be rocking. Forget the manager and that twunt Culverhouse, just cheer for the team.

The ground will definitely not be rocking. It only gets like that when the team are getting stuck in. We are now at the stage where people want Lambert out. They will want us to win but not let him get off the hook. We are not in a state now to celebrate staying in this league. It has gone on for too long. We need change.

Another thing that worries me is that we've had 3 great wins this season (Arsenal away, Man City & Chelsea at home) all 3 of which (possibly with the exception of Chelsea due to timing) we wouldn't of been overly concerned if we had lost. If we had drawn them, we would've most likely been reasonably happy!! So, lets say we had lost at Arsenal and drew at home to Man City and Chelsea, we would be on 27 points right now and totally in the shit!!! I know this is all ifs and buts and maybes, but to me it shows us what the state of our club is right now, in the shit!!!
As it is, we won them 3 games, so i'm sure we're 1 win away from safety, Sunderland are gone and I suspect Norwich too, so it's 1 from us, Cardiff, Swansea, Fulham and the Olbiyun!!!
