Anyone know why Amavi didn't feature again this weekend in either friendly match ? was he injured or is he just getting fitness levels ready to sell him but don't want to play him/ risk another injury ?

Didn't he only return to training last week? It was a pretty bad injury

I thought he'd been back in training for a while now.

All the Villa lads were tweeting him on 4th July saying how great it is to have him back in training. He might've been doing strength and conditioning before that but I think he's only been back to full training 2 weeks ago

Ah OK. Gonna take more than 2 weeks to get him up to speed again. Maybe a sub appearance in, what, 2 months??

Think he's hoping for the start of the season, but I wouldn't be surprised if he started the first few games on the bench

Happily, I think Joe Bennetts excellent pre season form might take the pressure off JA rushing things.
