Redundancy meeting today
So the clear out begins. So wrong that staff from both Villa Park and Bodymoor Heath will be losing their jobs, due to a bunch of over paid, under acheiving tossbags called Football players, and i use that term very loosely.
Good luck to you all at todays meeting. UTV.

Make 2 players redundant and keep on the 50 hard workers..........worst case, a couple of the grounds keepers can play next year and improve upon what we have now.

And what's worse is that Riley is still here.
I must be missing something. You can't seriously expect fans to buy into the revolution if one of the main culprits remains at the club.

And Wijerwhatsit. Those two draw fat salaries and between them and shitcunts on the playing staff like Agbonlahor would more than account for any of the hard working people who will be losing their jobs. Sad.

The Club, as it is, becomes more unlikeable every day.

I'd seriously remove Bacuna, Sanchez, Gabby, N'Zogbia, Lescott, Richards, Richardson, Bunn, Guzan and keep all of our staff. It's a god damn scandal

Re: Redundancy meeting today
Can anyone explain to me why the club has to make redundancies just cos we going down?
Do we cease to become a football club in the championship?
Will we not be marketing ourselves anymore? We will not have to sell tickets, maintain the ground, cut the grass, clean the corridors?
I just don't get why or even how we can be making many redundancies?
Has this been blown out of proportion or are the numbers involved likely to be significant?
Apologies in advance if this is a dunder-head question!

Re: Redundancy meeting today
I cant understand why a club with a billionaire owner whos to blame largely for what happened is trying to get rid of blameless employees just to save a few million quid per year.
Can anyone explain that to me??? Thought not.

Those poor people will now struggle to pay mortgages and stuff while the true failures pick up their fat cheques every week.
Surely there would have been grounds for dismissing some of the players ? Lescott definitely one.
I will always support Villa but at the moment I hate everything about them because we appitamise everything that is wrong with modern football.

Re: Redundancy meeting today
This shit is all down to the upper management and the players, if they all took a 2% drop in pay they could give these poor working folk a payrise instead of redundancy.
The prick running the country is a villa fan and operates like dipshit lerner, the country is getting relegated too, he'll resign over this tax shit and come onto AVFC Board, if he does I will double skullfuck that prick in a heartbeat.
Get the following out first please Hollis and then see what the books look like.......
Reilly
Weitdieja (or what ever the cuunts name is)
Gabby
Bacuna
Richards
Lescott
GUZAN THE CUUUNT
N'zogbia
Richardson
Westwood
Guzan again, double sack the cuunt
and seriously if anyone being made redundant walks up and punches Bacuna in the face ill double your redundancy money........in box me.

Like it mate. I agree 100%.
Why don't the players and management staff say they will give up 2% of their wages.
Because they are selfish deluded bastards that live no where near reality.

Unfortunately it is easier to bin those at the bottom than at the top. That's just how it is with any business.
Do you think those running the Tata sites are at risk?

It may be true but it is ineffective. Most of the junior staff are on about £7 per hour.

Re: Redundancy meeting today
It may be that this was necessary anyway and probably long overdue as we do seem to have too many staff compared to other football sides. However it is all about the timing, which again is despicable and counter productive as Villa already have far too much negative exposure!
At the moment there is not one bit of positivity at the club and don't mention the board as at the moment we have just employed more people on inflated wages!

Don't for one minute think that Hollis will not make a bucket load of cash out of this. This applies whether he succeeds or fails.

Re: Redundancy meeting today
Unfortunately this is a fact life and as we all know at times fairness is not a factor.
Next year our revenue will be reduced significantly with TV, sponsorship and probably gate receipts down form current levels. As the playing staff are on a completely different type of contract to support staff redundancy was always going to be occurance.
The playing staff apparently already have agreed reductions in pay built into their contracts so that is all the club can do. I know it means all of them are going to still be earning scandalously high wages but that's football.
Anyway according to the Mirror our club are going to ask fans for their votes on Player of the Season? That should be interesting? Perhaps we need a new thread starting?

Best thing to do with that Player of the Season is for nobody to vote for anyone. Alternatively, vote for someone who hasn't played.

Does it have to be a first team player? I like the look of Corey Blackett-Taylor.

The club have cancelled the player of the season this year, so no need to worry ourselves.

Re: Redundancy meeting today
This seems the best place to put something I read yesterday about Portsmouth's relegation in 2010.
Roger McFarlane, Portsmouth's training ground steward, now 73 and one of the few survivors from the 2010 relegation.
"So many staff lost their jobs that some Pompey players even offered to pay the wages of key personnel, although not all members of the squad fully appreciated the plight of those earning less in a year than those taking home each week".
"People had been there 10 years, 15 years. It just didn't matter. According to the office, 'You're out'. There was no sympathy"
"I remember one day at the training ground, I had broken my watch and one of the players handed me this brochure and said, "There's some lovely watches in there". "The starting price was about £10,000 up to about £50,000, We were going into administration, could be losing our jobs, and the guy handed me this, I wouldn't pay £5,000 for a car, let alone a watch".
The chasm has only got worse and will continue too.

Re: Redundancy meeting today
I'd like to think I would offer years wages in such a scenario. Just looking at John Carew after making 50-70 k p/w at Villa, he owns a large section of Oslo City center. He literally has like £ 20-40 million in relestate next to his other savings
This squad could pay all of the lay offs for years if they had the heart.
