Leadership and Lack of it...
Richards and Lescott (aka, Man City's class clowns) have been our leaders on the pitch this season and rumors have spread for years that Gabby, Hutton, and N'Zogbia are the ringleaders in the dressing room. When your team is led by a pair of care-free pranksters and a group of wage collecting, apathetic, selfish prima donnas, no wonder the team doesn't care if we win or lose.
This team needs leaders. Kevin Nolan would be a start, and for as much of a cock as Joey Barton is, having someone like him who isn't afraid to tell his teammates off for not putting in a shift, is a dressing room influence we badly need. The problem is that we're basically relegated already, and no player who would make an immediate difference to our team would even consider putting on a Villa kit this January. We need to bring in 4-5 strong personalities this summer. Guys who want to win games and demand effort and desire to be shown by their teammates. I want players who worked their way up to the Championship by hard work and determination to tell our apathetic team just how lucky they are to be playing football for a living instead of working a normal job like the rest of us.

I actually think the leadership comes from the manager. Sure we lack an organiser on the pitch - but appoint a decent manager and a leader on the pitch will naturally come forward - or else the manager will install one.
I do worry how bad things are when Bacuna is joking with an opponent whilst they were waiting to take the penalty today.
