Scott Sinclair
Aparent had a clause that he joins us permanently for £2.5m based on premiership survival. Is it me or TS sound a bit lukewarm on the whole thing ?
"I think there’s a discussion to be had at the end of the season. I’m not sure if it [a permanent deal] is cast in stone and I haven’t got confirmation of that,” Sherwood said.
“Is there a decision to make on him? Yeah. The injuries interrupted him but we have changed the style and the way we play a little bit. He’s been training, still a good lad, a good player. He hasn’t become a bad player or anything like that. I think if we go back to wide players then Scott will be an automatic choice to play there.”

Certainly doesn't sound like his biggest fan, does he?

Re: Scott Sinclair
Don't see what the problem is really....he must wait his turn, what's wrong with that? We only have one automatic choice player in my opinion!
Reading negativity into it seems a bit mad in my opinion.

Re: Scott Sinclair
14th March - Daily Express:
Sherwood on Sinclair: "Has he a future here beyond the summer if he continues to perform? Yes - and I think he is eager to do that," said Sherwood, whose 17th-placed team travel to Sunderland today.
"It is a huge club, he realises that. He obviously wants to play in the Premier League, as we do, so it is something that can be discussed once we are safe - in a couple of weeks!"
Seems like he is pretty keen in this interview. Clearly knew back then that any deal was based on our survival.
I expect him to start in the cup final....Sherwood keeps going on about how we are playing with 2 number 10's....no surprise if he changes that for the final to try and throw Arsenal a curve ball!

Sherwood wrote:"It's horses for courses at the moment. That's the way we're choosing to play.
"That's not to say we will play that way between now and the end of the season.
"We may well change.
"Scott has been training, he's still a good lad and a good player.
"He hasn't become a bad player or anything like that.
"Sometimes we will play with wide players."
Sounds like the door is more than open

Re: Scott Sinclair
I'm thinking he is only using 2 no10's because of Gabby's injury. We were using a 442 diamond with Gabby up top with Benteke, this formation was very effective and threatening.
When Gabby was hurt we changed tactics. I expect us to go back to a 442 diamond when our 2nd striker is healthy again.
I can see Sinclair playing the Gabby role (2nd striker with pace)... perhaps his future here at Villa is a backup pacey striker and winger when we decide to play wide.

Re: Scott Sinclair
I like Sinclair, he's not afraid of running straight at goal and puts in good runs. And I agree about Cleverley, he's been playing well.

Re: Scott Sinclair
Cleverley has been transformed by Sherwood, if he stays at Villa it has to be a good career move for him. Sinclair has the pace and technique that we need so I'm pleased that he's signed at the right price.

Re: Scott Sinclair
We do need players that can run at the opposition. We seem to have so many problems passing through them, so maybe having players like Grealish and Sinclair that can actually unlock defences simply by driving past them is what we need.
If it's only 2.5m that's just dandy.
