With reports emerging about Tim giving Adebayor another chance I wonder how significant this news is..

Re: Tim Sherwood: Villa reject
I like Sherwood. He's direct and honest. He signs interesting players and goes for blood. But how can we ever achieve anything, when he simply doesn't understand basic football?
If I was the manager today, I would've subbed Bacuna for Hutton at 60 and Veretout for Sinclair at 60. Subbed Gabby for Gestede at 85'ish. Just what the fuck is wrong with a professional manager when he can't see something so fucking basic.

Brian Little was saying much the same on WM

"Tactics" Tim strikes again...... 2 -0 up and cruising. So comfortable but then......substitutions. Hutton, a poor player but even so, on TO LATE. Ayew on and runs around like a headless chicken. What were his instructions?
So angry I can hardly speak! Bacuna, what a shambles ! D'ont even get me started on Guzan!
We never sorted right back when we had a chance during the window and now that and Tim´s tactical blunders are costing us pretty well every game.

To be fair, none of us have seen Ilori play yet, so I'm reserving judgement on that front for now.

SHerwood has a massive 2 games coming up - Baggies & Blues. If we lose both, which is a real possibility, he wont last long here. Those are 2 MUST WIN games, without fail

Just watched the post-match interview & I don't think I've ever seen a manager look so upset at a loss - Villa or otherwise. He could barely talk. Can't fault his passion for the job.

Can't help but think that last season he was the solution and now he is becoming the problem.

The buck stops with Sherwood here. That was total mismanagement and he fucking knows it. He'd set the team up well but messed up the subs. I could accept Carles going off as he's just back from injury and he might have been feeling sore... but if he wasn't then why the hell pull him off (not in that sense... dirty minds on here)? He needs to work this shit out asap or Mr 58% won't be long at the club.

Sorry....but at no point were we ever 'cruising' yesterday. We were getting mullered 2nd half and scored the second goal totally against the run of play....let's at least be honest in our assessments?
If Gil had to go off, then 99% managers would of shored things up by bringing on a defensive player. Veretout was the obvious change there...perhaps even Ciaran Clark would of been a decent move to shut up shop....go 3 at the back for last 20 mins.....but he decided to go 4-3-3 with 20 to go, when we were already getting destroyed!
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, it doesn't help when the players you bring on have no impact on the game whatsoever....!
I agree Bacuna should of been replaced earlier. He was awful.....as was Westwood...again. I think he has been poor this season, particularly yesterday and against Sunderland.
Amazing how we missed a Gueye so bad when he's only been here 5 minutes!!
Credit to Leicester though, they kept going and totally over ran us. We won't face many teams that are capable of that...especially the next 2 games. I'm confident we will with next 2 games comfortably.

Problem for me is that the word is out 'Villa Can't Defend' - So even if we go 2-0 up the other don't feel they are out of the game.

Re: Tim Sherwood: Villa reject
That's exactly right. Against the top teams you either go into damage-limitation mode or throw the kitchen sink at them and risk shipping another 2 or 3 goals.
Now though....just stay calm, play football and Villa will fold.

Am I sure the buck stops with Sherwood or if he knows it was mismanagement?
Either way... yeah, I'm sticking by that. Whatever the guy says in the pressers, he knows he's royally fucked up. Stick Veretout on and we may have had enough in midfield to stop (the incredible) Mahrez running at us. That boy is a massive talent and Leicester have done bloody well getting him in.

Re: Tim Sherwood: Villa reject
All we had to do was kill the game, 2-0 up away from home - you definitely don't be silly stifle midfield leave Sinclair to chase or Gabby stays on put on Clark, Hutton and Veretout and thanks 3pts in the bag but no we put Ayew and Gestede who are miles off the pace and lose 3-2 proper hurts but we dust ourselves down Lambert and style and probably continue with the same mistakes lol

It's whether he is aware that I have my doubts over. I think his ego is getting in the way. Time will tell if he learns his lessons but cock up like that again against WBA/Blues and he can expect the start of a a fan backlash.

Re: Tim Sherwood: Villa reject
I just think that when you watch that post-match interview, you see a man who is completely emotionally invested in the club & will do everything he can for it. I know we're still at the beginning of the season & Leicester are very good at the moment but (at the risk of stating the bleedin' obvious) it's going to be a very interesting next couple of games not just for our season but Tim's career.

In his post-match interview, he said:
"We have to go again. We have two big derbies coming up and we will make sure we are right for them."
For fuck's sake, man! Lose a game, throw games away, do what you like but don't use that fucking phrase!

At least we could understand the rest of the sentence unlike that mumbling fool from last year! Could be worse, could have added "I thought we showed great character".
I've trust Sherwood will get it right, fans need to stick by him. They can see what it means to him and how he has been nurturing our players, that was evidenced by Jack's celebration. He has huge respect from the team and I am sure he would have laid into them at the end of the match, yes his subs weren't wise but the players should be able to defend a 2-0 lead without having to throw 5 defenders and 4 holding midfielders on!
