I think I read about Gordon Cowans having a bit of a dig saying Jjjlloydd had bought himself a Bentley or something equally as fancy on the back of achieving the sum total of fuck all in footballing terms.

I'm guessing it must grate knowing that had he been born 20 years later he'd be a multi-multi-millionaire.

I think I remember that story. Yeah, that was when things began to really spiral totally out of control. Wasn't that show 'Footballers' Wives' on around that time?

It seemed to reflect how truly mad the game was going in the early 2000s.

He bought a Ferrari but being a man of limited height struggled to drive it. This culminated in him injuring his knee when trying to use the accelerator.

I believe he ended up replacing it with a Rover after just a few weeks.

Rog told me that Chris Price was living up here in QLD somewhere (the Gold Coast, I think) and to send him a friend request. But the name never really registered with me for some reason. Why?

Then I realised that we'd have just moved to Australia and, not having the internet, the only news you'd hear of football would be a 1 inch by 3 inch column in the paper with the scores, one match per week on TV and a shitty highlights show.

Dark ages as a Villa fan in the colonies.
