Formation/Tactics

Little distraction from our on the field woes, I was interested to see what tactics/formations you people favour (in general - whether just while thinking, playing FM or FIFA...)

I'm an attack-minded bastard so on FIFA and Footy Manager I play 3-4-3

Yes I know that's 2 #10s but they basically have defensive duties are drop into midfield when my teams are defending and then bomb forward to play off and around the striker when we have the ball, and the DM drops into defense to form a back 4 (a player like Clark at Villa, or Luiz/Mascherano at a better team!)

My general preference is a 4-2-3-1 that gets more attacking when chasing the game.

It's funny you know, all the fans clamouring for 4-4-2, but as a general rule I loathe that formation in real life and computer world!

Stop playing FIFA Kimbo mate. It all depends who we are playing against and the team selection. You cannot play the same formation every week. That is called Lambert Suicide Mission Tactics. Sherwood will play different every week to get results.

Excuse me? Haven't played FIFA since about 2002. Haven't even had a games console since then.

The whole point to the thread was people's favourite formations.

I stated mine, which is a 4-2-3-1, and I mentioned that I can't stand a traditional tram-line style 4-4-2 - the fact that most teams don't play it now, and the fact that no team that's any good plays it any more, speaks volumes.

So what's me apparently playing FIFA got to do with me answering the original question of the thread?
