Broadcast revenues, 2013-14

Post by Guest on Wed May 14, 2014 4:55 pm

They're basically through the roof, with Cardiff earning more for finishing bottom than Man United did the season before for coming top.

Villa's TV revenue jumped £27.7M to £72.7M.

72.7 million could possibly make us a mid table side next season. Who knows how much will be invested, though.

Trouble is, with this type of money available the average spend per club could be £80M over the summer. Leicester City's reported assertion that they'll spend up to £180M might gain them only lower mid-table, rather than their aim of Europe.

I reckon this summer someone very average will be sold for £40M or more. It'll be more of a jaw-dropper than when Andy Carroll (who at least has played for England) was sold to Liverpool for £35M.

Standby for utterly mind boggling transfer fees and even more than already mind-boggling wages.

You'd think with that sort of dough washing about Randy would stay put.

Yeah, the club being reportedly available for three times the annual total TV money (alone) makes it sound like a hell of a deal for someone.
