Tricky winger, played 15 games for us, 50 odd games for France, last heard he was the coach of Togo, is he still?

The ever-reliable Wikipedia says he's still at Togo. The mention of them begs another question, whatever happened to Salifou?

That's as well because we only had him on loan, from Mulhouse.  

We signed him just after I'd become a VP regular in 1984. He ripped Manyoo a new one on his debut (coming off to a standing ovation) as we won 3-0, but his only goals were against Southampton (Peter Shilton unfit on that day) and Stoke via a hefty deflection.

He spent some time out of the team as he reportedly struggled to settle, in part due the language barrier. Later in the season came on as sub versus eventual champions Everton and almost ripped them a new one too. Had to settle for a 1-1 draw that day.

That 3-0 win against united he was superb - did little else for us .

Remember that game. Was he just a player who blew hot and cold or were their other issues?

To be honest that game is all i remember him for - another signing who promised much but delivered little:(

I am the same opinion of you Eastie, i can remember him in his first game against United,where he looked a world beater,but struggle to remember him for anything else

I was at that United game he played well but like the rest of you I don't remember anything else that he did for us.
