We really have gone off the rails, and I'm not sure how we get back on track. But there's so much at stake, that the club need to do whatever it takes to stop the club sleepwalking into yet another failure of a season.

Whelan determined to put through his own net. Otherwise we are nowhere near as good as we think we are.
At least if we fail in the play-offs (assuming we even get there) whoever comes in will have to start using some of the talented youngsters in the development squad.

Nah, what's the point of an academy when your defensive cover is Tuanzebe (already playing) and Samba (erm) so you play proven defender and lightning legs Jedinak. We'll still have the likes of Whelan next season, we won't need to use U23s.

I was thinking about that Big Ming, with quite a few big earners leaving, Gabby, Hutton a few loaned players etc etc that will reduce wages considerably and if we sell one or two also that will hopefully generate enough funds to buy a couple of decent ones and if we use the loan market well again coupled with a couple of youngsters coming through we could challenge again maybe?

It would be interesting if nothing else. As for this game and season the bottom has dropped out of it for me already.

If we reached the playoffs i would have half an eye on them but very little hope or expectation as we simply ain't very good.

Looks like he's decided to use this to rest a few, Terry included. Maybe he is thinking they had lost form due to the number of games and age etc and thought if he rests them and we lose this at least they'll be fresh for Leeds?

The more I watch this the more I think Grealish is our only good player. He's constantly collecting the ball from defence and running down the middle, at players and often into their fouls. He rarely has off games. Only Hutton comes close and he's lacking in talent.

Our season really has died, an utter disgrace the way we've fallen apart.

Can anyone think why Whelan's on that pitch? He doesn't have the legs for it, it's embarrassing.

Hourihane - why aren't we doing that all the time? It's like Hogan's on the pitch. And that includes the miss.

He's getting worse and he's still on the pitch at 83 minutes.

At least it's become a little more interesting. Johnstone definitely MOTM. Good to see a few of our players getting stuck in.

Bittersweet victory with emphasis on bitter as it's too little too late, so frustrating that we can beat Cardiff and Wolves, and yet manage to throw all the other games away in affect ending our season until the play-offs.

At least I think we're pretty much guaranteed top six now though, and technically we've won two of the three, so maybe you could say we're finding some form.

You're far too negative deadbuzz. Until everything is mathematically impossible I'm just gonna go game by game. Cardiff, clearly low on confidence, have to go to Norwich next and Fulham are up against a side who are equally as good as them at keeping the ball (Brentford) and it's a derby to boot. Then after that they have to go to Millwall. IF we manage to get three points on Friday then imo anything is possible.

Oh, and it's good to be back to winning ways after I started this thread!!!..you guys can thank me later Very Happy

we won tonight because of Johnstone. a fine performance from him it was. But he has to put in petformances like that more than two or three times a season.
Great Goal ....and a boost for us going into the play offs ....we need to be hitting form for those 3 matches.

It has been said many times on this forum but when teams come to Villa Park or Villa roll into their town its like to em, they really go for it and perhaps we get complacent, either way we all know what happens. lol!
