This Linifield ref sugarbag is fucking shit. Sweet jesus. What a petulant shit. And paired with Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder as assistants.

There's a 1st, not naming the coaching line up correctly so Agnes ordered away from the bench

Whelan off, "injured" (read: shit again, let's cover it with an injury story), Babjarnaman on.

Agreed. Grealish is pretty much what we got.
I don't like Thor, but he has been better so far at CM than anything I've seen from Whelan.

Grealish and Adomah link up well on that side but he doesn't seem to get over and help Snoddy much IMO If I were to be critical of him

Happy with that.
Away from home at a team with a new manager bounce and coming off the back of a huge cup win. No complaints.

Another 90 minutes of absolute shit Steve Bruce football. Can't wait for this clown to be sacked.
I won't complain more tonight though, as it was a very professional Italian like defensive job. But if it was a team with some quality we'd never come away with three points here, probably not even one point.
Bjarnason should permanently replace Whelan in central midfield though. I'd forgotten what it was like having a CM that could run around.

Agreed, a fairly entertaining game and nice to see us pose more threat than the opposition. Never got the sense they would be able to pull a rabbit out of the hat, we didn't boss the game entirely but looked fairly resolute. Passing was generally better, defending was a lot better other than Chester looking a little nervy. Thor did a cracking job for the 2nd half and was pleased to see Hogan getting about the place, using his presence to be a nuisance at least.

Won 3 on the trot, 4th in the league, keeping clean sheets. Dont hold your breath for Bruce to be sacked.

Excellent win, i would never have predicted us beating all of Middlesbrough, Bristol City and Forest, just frustrating that having done so, we're still five points from second place, the spectre of a disappointing December is still haunting us.

Oh I'm not. Don't worry. This club will be in the championship for years, with this quality hoofball to go with it.

Yes at least we still have a chance, good chance to keep the run going against Barnsley.

These are all key points, going on an unbeaten run from Christmas will blow away the opposition, once they see the mighty Villa getting into gear they will poo themselves. UTV

Re: The general Match thread thread when people cba or forget to make one
I'm still laughing at how different it was having Bjarnason as a CM than Jedinak or Whelan. Several times I actually stopped to wonder why there was someone running around and following players.
I've given him plenty of stick, and I don't rate him as a winger or fullback at all, but I'd be inclined to give him a run next to Hourihane.
And christ on a bike the refereeing was poor.

To be honest Bjarnason made the difference coming on for Whelan for the second half, the whole team looked more attack minded and dominated the rest of the game, although with only one goal it is always going to be a nervy ending!
Bjarnason might still prove me wrong about his worth, as long as Bruce doesn't bring Whelan back (perhaps (hopefully) Whelan might think about retiring with his latest injury)!

Re: The general Match thread thread when people cba or forget to make one
Well I hope Thor is a revelation because as I've posted a few times on here I was genuinely excited when we signed him and tried to be positive in the early days. I've pretty much not commented at all on him since then as I was starting to feel embarrassed that I'd bigged him up at all. I really hope he finds his place and becomes a star for us - as do i for Hogan. Getting these previously fringe players playing in the right position with the right blend around them I think will be the difference between promotion or not.
