This is a tough one, but we should use this one to let the shackles off have a look at different faces IMO. They have lost their main striker which is a bonus, if we go with the right mindset we can get a result, going to play safe and say 1-1. Fulham v Villa 1520050566

Your right from now on we should be blooding the youngsters
If we lose all the games at least we'll now some are not good enough if we win we'll know most are good enough
My team would be
Johnstone(only if were going to sign permanent otherwise give skacic a run)

Bree. Chester. Suliman/toner Taylor

Lyden Lansbury

Green grealish. Rhm

Hogan

I left kodja out because we could lose him in the summer and we need to learn to live without him anyway can't rely on one player

Interesting to see what Bruce does especially with the weekend in mind although I don't really see much change as he isn't that type of manager, just another loss but quite close by the odd goal (1 - 0).

Bacuna and AMAVI should be left on the coach. And neither should have no place at villa next season.

I can't see anything other than another loss... 3-0

The reasons are plentiful...

We have issues at LB, and they are free scoring especially at home whilst we are crap away. Add to that only 48 hrs rest against a team with 36 hours rest and the fact it's live on TV, games which we just always lose! Then we have the small matter that they, like Reading were on Sat are desperate for the points for the playoffs whilst we have little to play for.

Sadly it has bad loss written all over it.

Can't really argue with that assessment although Fulham have lost Chris Martin for this match, having said that it didn't stop them from scoring twice with just 10 men on the field.

The season is dead, we'll lose this game by 2 or 3 goals to nil. Bruce may as well start using the last few games as a bit of a pre-season and try to start laying down a style of play with the players he intends using for sure next season. Disappointing start to the season, disappointing start to the new year, disappointing end to the season. I think of all the teams currently above us we have only won games against Reading, Derby, and Norwich..........and we're 12th! That's pretty abysmal by any standard for a team wanting to challenge for the top 2 places. I'm revising my expectations for next season by the game, realising that we are in fact quite some distance from being a team that can compete

TODAY'S TEAM

Johnstone, Bree, Amavi, Elphick, Chester, Baker, Gardner, Jedinak, Grealish, Hogan, Kodjia

SUBS: Lansbury, Hourihane, Hepburn-Murphy, Bacuna, Hutton, Adomah, Bunn

So the team will be...

...................Johnstone...............

..........Elphick..Chester..Baker...........
..Bree.....................................Amavi....
................Gardner..Jedinak.................
......................Grealish.................
................Hogan........Kodjia.......................

So Bruce has gotten all scared again and is playing musical chairs with the defence after ONE defeat? Didn't he say "trying the back five system is over?" This is why I have major doubts about him going into next season...we've played five at the back four times this season and didn't win a single one. Let's see if today is any different.

He still hasn't a clue what system he wants to play!

Grealish played so well when he came on as sub on Saturday, didn't he? Well NO he didn't but don't let that deter you Bruce! Gardner playing, give me a break! Amavi shouldn't be anywhere near the squad!

I am definitely losing my patience as I don't class this as progress! Fulham v Villa 1715320296

Just realised that we are playing 5 at the back with Jedinak as a defensive midfield player!

Can we actually get more defensive, how the hell are we going to supply the two at the front, oh I know hoof it up!

That's what Bruce does...rely's on his strikers to pull a rabbit out of the hat while everyone else defends for their lives Rolling Eyes .

Who knows, us naysayers might have egg on our faces come 4:30...but we've played 352 four times, lost two and drew the other two. And one of those draws vs Toon was only because RDM changed the system at half-time. Oh, and we've scored the grand total of ONE goal whilst playing 352 too!!..so expect a goal fest today no doubt Laughing .

This. Exactly this. I'm concerned that after seeing the line up it seems Bruce really hasn't a set plan of how he wants us to play on a consistent basis. The lineup is rubbish imo, I expect nothing other than a backs-to-the-wall display in the hope of keeping a clean sheet and Kodjia producing a moment of magic. Going purely on what I've seen so far I'd not be bothered if that rumoured contract stopped rolling. If it's to be turgid, grinding displays with sequences of 1-0 wins with the odd month thrown in where we can't buy a point then I'd rather watch the rugby.......or tennis.......or F1. Anything

Our defence is just shite. No idea how professional footballers can't clear the fucking ball at first sight of it.

And Grealish is dogshit. What on earth was that run. My 8 year old nephew is on that level.

Playing so many at the back just creates so many problems as they just leave it to each other without anyone accepting responsibility for just clearing the ball! Fulham v Villa 1327487109

My lad offered me a ticket for today and whilst I was tempted just for the crack, I knew I couldn't be bothered to trek up to London to watch us capitulate. I'm not regretting that decision so far, and I'f I'd have heard Grealish Garner and Amavi were in the team, I'd have turned the car round.

Can anyone tell me, when there's nothing to play for, what putting Grealish, Gardner and Amavi in the team tells us, other than they were shit earlier in the season and they've tailed off since then.........

And now Kodjia off
