I haven't seen the match today so I will reserve my judgement. I do not however find it surprising that a team that has a bunch of rejects they can't seem to give away are struggling to work as a unit. We could probably release 11 players and it would do the club a lot of good. Squad cohesion is based upon unity and we haven't had any for quite a while.

I am by no means a strong man but I'd give him a piggy back up there.

It's muy importante that we get rid of the deadwood tbh. Hopefully this is just one of many. Bacuna and Richards next please.

I honestly don't think McCormack was as bad today as people are making out, he looked rusty, but at the same time he worked hard and show some good touches.

If we were to get rid I think he'd be a shrewd signing for a team that will play to his strengths. I wouldn't be looking to sell one of the best goalscorers and assistors at Championship level to a promotion rival, especially when we lack creativity and can't score ourselves.

Think we gotta focus on our own side before that kinda thinking tbh. If McCormack can get us £ 5 mill and 50 k wages off the books I'm all for it. I'd rather play Kodjia, Hogan, Gabby or a youth. McCormack has looked nothing but average for us. Does anyone feel he actually fits in with the rest of our team in terms of how we play?

I'm not sure if any of our players fit in with the way we play, as we don't really have a way of playing, that's kind of the problem. Fixing that over pre-season, should be more important than any signings we make.

We still try to play in a Premiership type of way, slow build up and the players looking like they have all day on the ball. It doesnt work in a division where it heads down & 90mph and teams are in your face

This. Our way of playing seems to be defend and ensure we maintain at least 30 yards between midfield and isolated striker. Crosses are expected to come in from full backs, who then get berated for being out of position when they aren't back in time to defend, so end up defending and starving our striker(s) of crosses. Buying Gestede and not playing to his strengths is one of the biggest wastes of time of recent seasons. He needed two things - crosses and a partner to play with and knock the ball down for. We gave him neither. Kodjia works because he's up front on his own and likes it that way. We seem to buy the best strikers from other teams and then wonder why they don't fit in with the players we have (Ayew is another example). The thing is, Kodjia is worth building a team around but to start increasing our goal tally he needs players like Grealish, Lansbury, Hourihane and Veretout around him, with Adomah and Green coming in from the wings, who in turn need to be interacting with the likes of Hutton and Amavi. Sure, Kodjia can do a lot of it on his own, but we could be scoring a lot more if the manager tried being a little more proactive.

Incidentally, I thought Green played really well with Amavi against Telford, and on the right he played really well with Hutton against Shrewesbury. Hutton made some nice balls into space for Green to run onto, something I hadn't noticed much with Adomah playing there. It's not just how Green plays when he has the ball, it's how he interacts with those around him. I reckon we have a really special player there.

Speaking of Adomah, according avfctransfers1 on twitter, he's going to be missing for a few months; for me we should be replacing him with a pacey winger who can get goals and assists, but his replacement will probably be Elmohamady.

I'd probably stick Green out wide and leave Grealish on opposite, though more defensively. Bit like Man Utd used Giggs and Beckham

That would be an absolutely moronic deal for us. Why on earth would be loan out an injury ridden player when we can rather sell him? He's in the right age for a good sale. Loaning him out - what happens if he gets injured again?

Just no.

I agree Joppe as Amavi seems to be our only player who people are willing to pay money for (maybe)?

I think we were hoping to fund our window from the sale of Amavi (to stay within FFP) and that is now completely down the drain so it seems?

However if it means we cannot sign Whelan or Elhamady then every cloud has a silver lining?

According to L'equipe since he 'failed' his Sevilla medical, he'd undergone two seperate independent medicals and passed them both to prove his fitness. Which to me suggests, we're still trying to sort out a deal for him, to help with FFP.

Need to start selling some players soon, any of Amavi, Cissohko, Richards, Hutton, Elphick, Gardner, Bacuna, Tshibola, Veretout, McCormack, and possibly even Jedinak, are probably available for sale.

I'd probably keep Veretout and Tshibola, and would be reluctant to sell McCormack to another championship club.

I'm glad you said that, I think Tshibola is a very good prospect, and really like Veretout and think both could be excellent for us. I'm not so bothered by McCormack, we seem to have screwed up his career sufficiently for him not to be a threat to us if he goes elsewhere.

Well like it or not, Whelan and Elmohamady are both arriving within the next few days -from AVFCTransfers. Also, a couple on the way out but he didn't name anyone.

Some good news is apparently Adomah is only going to be out for two or three weeks, not two months and maybe more, as was originally reported.

I don't get the Elmohanady signing at all, we don't need a right-back, and he isn't a very affective midfielder, but lets see how he does.

Whelan I think is a good player, and I can't understand Villa fans looking down on him, would help us retain possesion much better than Jedinak in midfield, although I hope Bruce isn't planning on playing the both of them in the same team, unless Jedinak drops into defence.

I think one of the departures will be Elphick, who small heath are apparently hoping to sign in the next 24 hours, the other probably Cissohko.

Agree 100%. I'd go as far as I think getting players out is much more important than getting anyone in.

Well Elmohamady lost his way at Hull but i remember him being a very potent force for them under SB. He obviously knows his game inside out back to front so i'm happy if he comes personally. Like a Hutton that can cross the ball better which is surely a blessing lol!

Tbh I see this signing more as Bruce getting one of his guys into the dressingroom than us signing him due to his footballing ability. Bit like MON and Agathe, Sutton, Maloney.
