I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Agbonlahor is in Bruce's plans, and he favours him ahead of McCormack, Hepburn-Murphy and Davis.
As for left-backs we were linked with Marvin Johnson at one point, and he's probably someone who could play as a wing-back quite affectively.

Yes, too many old players, Terry feels like a good signing and an understandable one, but whelan, Crouch and Elmohamady don't feel necessary at all to me.
Rather than the forward thinking club, that Wyness and Round promised us that we'd be, it's starting to feel we're more like a club with a 'jobs for the boys' mentality sweeping through it. I hope Xia isn't being taken for a ride.

Re: Summer transfer window 2017/18
Not overly keen on some of those names mentioned as I agree they are in the twilight of their careers, however i think the thinking behind them may be around Bruce's comments on us being a big club and needing players that won't be fazed playing for us. Take McCormack for an example, brilliant before he signed for us, then thought he'd made it and lost his way. The likes of Terry, Crouch, Whelan and Elmohamady wouldn't be affected by this.
So whilst not mouth watering names, i think they could still do a job and help not only the youngsters, but also players like Landsbury and Hourihan that will be feeling the pressure of a club like ours for the first time.

Re: Summer transfer window 2017/18
The thing with Crouch, is that I'm seeing people say he'll be a good option for us off the bench, if he signs he won't be coming here to sit on the bench, and the money we'll be paying him, we won't be signing him for that either.
I'd rather we use the strikers we spent over £30m on; Hepburn-Murphy has a similar record to Abraham in academy football, give him a chance, not every youngster has to go out on loan.
And I actually like Crouch think he's been a good player, his goal ratio was actually pretty good last season and Stoke fans seems to love him, I just think we could be in danger of having too many old players in our team.
For what it's worth I don't think we'll actually get him.

Re: Summer transfer window 2017/18
I remember when Lambert switched from young and hungry to experienced heads and we ended up with Richards, Lescott, Richardson, Senderos and Joe Cole! That went well?
I don't mind some experience but if the targets are to be believed I don't understand many of them?

Xia has pretty much dismissed the Crouch link, by calling it 'a rumour'.

Don't think we need any more strikers tbh. If we needed one it was a quick mobile one ala Forestieri.

Nixon was wrong about Crouch so it seems, but for what it's worth he's now saying that Burnley want Whelan and he'd prefer to stay in the top flight, also that we don't want to pay a fee for him.

To be honest, have Nixon been right about anything since that summer where we tried to sign the Blackburn players? He has some connection with Blackburn, but all else he writes seems to be a load of rubbish.

Don't really understand this post.
Do you mean that Forestieri wouldn't improve us, in which case, I don't agree?
Or, do you think we've no chance of landing him?
I would like to think that, if Forestieri is up for grabs, we should be able to attract him.
Either way I don't get your post.

I can see where he is coming from. I like Forestieri. Probably more than any of our players.

Well give him a break, HE is definitely a player we have been waiting for he would improve us beyond recognition, a real team player with masses of skill.

Rumours that Amavi deal is off after he failed his medical.
If this is true will we need to sell another 'big' player before we can get new players in to balance the books ???

Re: Summer transfer window 2017/18
I'd honestly rather keep Amavi, than sign Elmohamady, not that one is necessarily dependent on the other. I'm sure it will work out, and he'll get his move in the end, though. He strikes me as being a good character though so if he is forced to stay, I think he'll do his best for the club, he might even increase his value.

It can't be that bad considering how many games he played last season.
