Jonathan Kodjia
Not sure if you are all following him on Twitter, but he comes across as a top guy.
McGrath just criticised him and his response was pure class and respect and he's done this a number of times.
Thought this was worthy of his own thread (and also makes it easy to talk about individual players as opposed to doing it in transfer threads etc.)

Agree he seems so humble and really aware of Villa's history. Top bloke and if he builds an understanding with Hogan that could be an awesome partnership.

Top class response to comments made by McGrath who like us has become frustrated with our current plight. He also acknowledges that he is not the finished article, with some work he could be a great.

Kodjia written English seems far more advanced than his spoken English?

My son is doing GCSE French at the moment and I am finding that over 30 years of non use my GCE French has all been forgotten in both the written and spoken forms?

I did French at Uni and lived in French Belgium so mine has held up slightly better. Struggle to understand any Parisian when they go off rambling but I can still read French fairly well.

He's 3 points behind. Never heard of Chris Woods. Thought he was a golakeeper.

Isn't he that Leeds striker? Big lad iirc. Proper targetman.

Jonathan Kodjia has suffered a broken ankle.
He picked up the injury in the 1-0 defeat to Blackburn this past weekend.
Kodjia will now visit a specialist in Europe this week for further tests.
The injury will likely require surgery which could then rule the striker out of pre-season and the start of next season.

Re: Jonathan Kodjia
I guess the only blessing is we're likely to keep the best striker in the league for another season at least. Because I was convinced he was off this summer. With it happening now I would suspect he will be back in September/October the latest. I just hope when he returns he has a decent manager to play for.

Bruce has a ready made excuse now, if we have a poor start to next season. Also if any teams were planning on bidding for him, then I'm not sure if this will put them off entirely.

Re: Jonathan Kodjia
Good opportunity for other players to show that they are worth a shirt and we might actually start playing like a team, on second thoughts forget that last bit that is stretching the imagination!

Re: Jonathan Kodjia
I had a horrible feeling it was a break, the way he was reacting.
Depending on severity, we might be lucky enough to have him back by the start of next season - the suggestion of seeing a specialist and surgey doesn't necessarily bode well for that though sadly. Hopefully this is precautionary only, but time will tell of course.

Just for 45 minutes apparently to see if he can be involved tomorrow.
Fingers crossed, we desperately need him!

When he's in the team everything seems to change. Just hope he's able to do the business for a manager who deserves him rather than that old chancer.
