The last 2 summer transfer windows were very exiting at the time but only a few players have been anywhere near good enough, it feels like the magic roundabout.

Only time will tell but so far this window feels different, they feel like real footballers. People who will start seasons with football goals, targeting medals and international caps etc...... Instead of how much they can earn, whether to buy this hypercar or that or both, getting that Richard Mille, Vacheron Constantine or Patek.

Wyness Round and Bruce too, real football people. Hope it works.out because it just feels right to me.

You are comparing apples and oranges though.

The fact is that with the right wealthy owner that has a company big enough to funnel funds through the club in terms of marketing or what not, then the FFP is a non-issue. This is basically confirmed by the Manchester City Etihad connection. UEFA didn't give two fucks about that.

I have serious doubts about Xia's wealth compared to a lot of others here, but if he was ridiculously rich, there's very little stopping him from branding everything Villa related with the Recon Group. FFP is utter shite and play for the gallery.

Fulham and Notts Forest both received transfer embargos for exceeding FFP limits and Bolton received one for failing to submit their accounts. You cannot look to the likes of PSG and Man City for comfort because, trust me, if we breach the rules we will be punished.

Rather, it's a conspiracy by the established 'European Elite' clubs to 'lock the doors to the banquet hall' so the clubs that sit at the top table now, will always sit at the top table.

Ironic that you mention Man City, because FFP suddenly made it's way onto the agenda when City were taken over. The Man City takeover panicked the elite European clubs. It seems City were the last ones in the door before it was firmly bolted.

anyone got any ideas whom thisw may be?

We’ve got one on the go which is close, which hasn’t been mentioned, so we must be doing something okay.

It’s the first time we’ve been able to keep our gobs shut for a long time, so I’m delighted about that! That’s made it a bit easier.

There’s one very, very close.

I can’t go into much detail as he’s obviously contracted to another club.

Apparently Bruce has said that we want a couple of defenders and a striker. If we consider that the striker is Rhodes and one of the defenders is Taylor, then the mystery signing might well be a central defender... Possibly Alex Bruce.

Then again the whole Rhodes thing might be a smokescreen and we're going for a totally different striker, maybe someone like Afobe.

I've read a lot of comments on twitter ( so obviously gospel) that its a big signing and not someone that's been mentioned in the press.

I've got a feeling four could be coming through the door. Rhodes, Taylor, Central defender and a winger. And that's not forgetting the young lad from Bury who should be snapped up aswell.

Would love to see Richards and Bacuna depart but not sure it will happen.

=

{(Neil Taylor -(Ayew + cash)+10%+20%*1/3} means just one of these deals will happen, highest probability N Taylor

+(-99% (Tishbola)-65%(McCormack)-50% (A N Other) are out

+50% who knows +95% in - could be the Bury lad BUT Bruce has said someone is close and news has not leaked, so likely someone else as the Bury lad is for the U23s

On the other hand the first 95% -95% my be the Bury lad, signed and then loaned back! I think the first scenario is the likeliest.
