QPR vs Aston Villa Match thread
Sorry De Kuip, but I think it's time for a change my friend .
So basically we go into the game having lost two in our last three games, with one away win in eleven and looking a complete mess whilst the hosts are at a low ebb and have lost four in a row. Oh and it's also on SKY of which we haven't won a game on that devil box since 2014!!.. so lets do the maths...struggling club looking to change around their fortunes + it's away + it's on sky =????? should we even bother turning up?
Bruce has promised to make changes for this game!!..So it's gonna be very interesting to see what he comes up with. I wonder if a change in system is in order? 442? 352? He certainly played the latter a lot during his time at Hull although clearly it's not something that has worked for us.
As for the players!!..well I hope Tish, Mccormack, Bacuna (at right back) and maybe Andre Green get a look in. Also have to pray that Baker is back as Elphick is just a disaster.
As for a prediction.. I dunno, I just get the feeling it will be another disappointing affair. Either we cling on for a draw or we surrender to defeat again like we have in the last two away games. I just don't think these lot have the bottle to grind it out away from home tbh. I just want these games out of the way and hopefully we'll see some positive changes once the window is open because make no mistake, we MUST start winning away from home if we have any intention of making the top six.

Re: QPR vs Aston Villa Match thread
We have to start winning away definitely and quickly if we are to have a chance for promotion.
In some ways i see it as we have not even peaked yet this season and that actually may not be a bad thing provided we can somehow get in those playoffs. Others may have peaked too early and could run out of steam by that point.
I feel we need four good signings
RB to replace Hutton and who actually knows how to cross/pass a ball.
CD to replace Richards & offer a stronger alternative to Baker than Elphick.
CM who can play a pass and will score/create goals etc.
& a GK
That as a minimum as i see it and then barring any bad luck / key injuries we have a chance.
As for the automatic spots that's well gone now. We needed a win at Norwich and others to slip up. Neither happened effectively putting us 6 points further away...that ship has long since departed.

Re: QPR vs Aston Villa Match thread
until we get to the January transfer window I can't see any great change/improvement in performances or results, then when Bruce brings in his own players I think we will take off, but this game is one that another Villa hating piss taking manager (Holloway) will relish, QPR are crap but come Sunday they will turn on the style and beat us 2-0, hope I'm wrong only time will tell, but I don't think the sky record is going to improve anytime soon.

Re: QPR vs Aston Villa Match thread
Thanks AT as I'm a commitment-phobe the weight of responsibility was getting to me anyway haha.
With my new found freedom I'm going for an expansive 0-3 to villa with goals from kodjia and mcCormack (2)*.
Made all the sweeter by the noses losing 0-3 to Brighton.
*I am currently in the pub and on my third pint so maybe slightly optimistic. It's highly likely this is turning into a sesh so I'm just going to fast forward right now and say "you're all my best mates and fuck off blues you knuckle dragging sugarbags"

At this moment in time I cant get excited about the game, just like all of you I think that every game will be the start of something but every time we get served dross. I am hoping that Brucie WILL make the changes he said he would and that for once we get it together, I WAIT TO SEE, just like the rest of you.

Hopefully Baker will be fit. If he is I'd send them out in a 4-3-2-1

We all hope Baker is back. If he's not, then we'll have to score at least two to get all three points.
I'd like to see Green not only for the obvious reasons as to who he'd replace but also for the ball-retention factor...the lad simply doesn't like giving it away and that'll rub off on others.
I'll go for a well deserved 2-0 win!

Dazzle you have Westwood in your team.
Is your carer with you as I think you are over-medicating.

Re: QPR vs Aston Villa Match thread
if we play bacuna and amavi both at full back I think we have to go 3 at the back and wingbacks. There's not enough cover and we'll be exposed. That involves dropping one of the attacking midfielders and going 2 up top which could really suit McCormick and kodjia As a pair but it's likely grealish would have to miss out and I feel Bruce is trying to build around him. It'll certainly be interesting to see.

This will be a true test of Bruce & Calderwood coaching - you can do all the re-shuffling in the world of the squad but I want to see if they can light a rocket up these players arses so that they play out their skins for a win.
A change in attitude first & foremost.

Cheers, Narla. Clearly Bruce is intent on following through with his comment of dropping people. Good to see.

He has been savage with the players since the Norwich debarcle mate, seriously fucking savage. Got a list from Donald on players who are 99% not going to be there at the end of January. I will pm you them. Players have had a right rocket shoved up their crevaceTrotters wrote:Cheers, Narla. Clearly Bruce is intent on following through with his comment of dropping people. Good to see.

Re: QPR vs Aston Villa Match thread
I suppose a manager with experience of the Alex Ferguson way of doing things was never going to put up with dickheads stealing a living. The reaction from the players will be interesting.
A villa win tomorrow and a catastrophic loss for zola and all will be well with the universe.

Agreed on that one. From what has been told the players are playing for their futures at Villa tomorrow.Trotters wrote:I suppose a manager with experience of the Alex Ferguson way of doing things was never going to put up with dickheads stealing a living. Re: QPR vs Aston Villa Match thread
Remember not long after Xia bought the club he went down to BMH and tore shreds off certain players? I wonder if he's stuck his oar in again or if he's left it to Bruce to fix?
Obviously it'd be best for all of he left it to the manager who he hired to do the job but I have to admit that there a big part of me that enjoys the idea of a little Chinaman going apeshit at 6ft+ players. Like Mr.Chow in The Hangover movies.

Think we'd all like to see that list, though I suspect we could all make a good guess to who's on it, any surprise names on there Narla ?

Re: QPR vs Aston Villa Match thread
Huge question mark over Bruce now. Gollini has had a defence in front of him of Chester, Amavi and Jedi yet he's had the finger of blame pointed at him???
Gardner is a clown that will do nothing and Bacuna would have been better off at right back not in midfield.
FFS this has disaster written all over it (watch us go and win 5-0 with a Gardner hattrick now!)

Got a feeling McCormack's going to do well today, still wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being our top goalscorer, hope he takes his chance.

Re: QPR vs Aston Villa Match thread
after seeing the line-up against Norwich I thought we were going to lose.
this line-up, we are going to play much better.
I would call this a win if we were playing at home. away, we will probably be put under more pressure.
this leads to the only question I have about the line-up, from the resources we have: Bunn in goal. if QPR play well he is going to be tested. we will concede.
if QPR don't play well and don't put Bunn under a lot of pressure (no more than 2 shots on target) I'm calling a win for Villa, possibly by more than one goal because QPR have been on a bad run of form.

That team looks OK to a point, lets hope if they have had a rocket they go for it from the off.

McCormack looks slow. I think we need Grealish on for him if he doesn't improve.
