You are right, apparently he is suspended for non-competitive fixtures until 17 October, but it doesn't apply for Championship matches.

Today is about how serious the players are in my opinion. A new manager to impress, new competition for places now the slate has been wiped clean, a desperate need to finally get the season underway if we are truly in with a chance of play-offs or promotion this season and of course the little matter of it being a local derby against one of our "promotion" rivals, so they know the fans will be desperate for a result. We will find out today just how serious the players are about doing well for the new boss. If we see an abject performance i will be very concerned as there is not really much more you could find as motivation for a football team!

Totally agree, the talking has to stop and the judgement will be on the pitch.
If the players can't be 'up' for this game we may as well all give up and resign ourselves to a life in the lower reaches of the football league!

Cissokho can get forward, the problem is what he does when he gets there. He hasn't looked bad this season overall. Amavi has the potential to be brilliant, but he hasn't looked the player he was before his injury. Hopefully he'll regain that form and make the left back position one we don't have to worry about. Then there's just the other 10 to sort out!

Can't complain about that line-up at all. Ayew apparently took a knock for Ghana last week so maybe that's why he's been rested. I knew Bruce would pick Richards and Micah is the type of lad I think he'll look to get the best out of. Tish and Jedi in the middle need to assert their authority in there and hopefully Adomah and Grealish will get some quality service into Mac and Kodjia. I expect mac to play between the lines and drop deep at times himself.

All in all I'm hopeful we can get a result out of this. Picking a balanced team is always a good start, just have to hope the players click now.
