Hasn't he already fucked up the chance, or was last year a bad dream I had?!

Fuck. No.
Giggs, like Timmy, irks me. Because he believes simply being at United means he is seemingly above earning his stripes at a lower level club. Giggs expected the United job, when he didn't get it he now expects a Premier League job.
Wagner might not have much experience but he left Dortmund and took on the role at Huddersfield, in the 3rd tier of English football who were well in the bottom half. That puts him far and away above Giggs and Sherwood in terms of the respect I give them

It'd be concerning if they have opted for change without a primary candidate who they have no idea as to whether he would want to take the position.
Yesterday I felt sure they had made such preparations....today not so much..

Re: The next Villa Manager
The BBC have an article, which I can't be arsed to read, entitled, "Villa job would suit Bruce". Oh well that's ok then as long as it would suit him we'd better give him the job then! He played for Man Utd you know and he's always willing to give an interview. Ticks all the boxes then.
The media just talk bollocks and write whatever fits in with what suits them. In the case of the BBC what suits them is generally cosying up to their pals. None of them seem interested in actually doing some good old fashioned journalist work and trying to find out what is really happening, instead of reading the same tired shit we're all stuck with and rehashing it.

I have an in-built distrust of anything approaching an old boys network, utter distrust. And for me Steve Bruce falls into that group, lots of BBC pundits etc saying it has to be Bruce for the Villa job. They're an old boys network, all reliant on each other for future paydays and paybacks. Avoid at all costs.

I can't believe the name keeps popping up. I shall have to trawl back and find a match thread link to remind everyone just how fucking bad Dimmy was.

Re: The next Villa Manager
I completely agree Dazzle. I saw Chris Sutton banging on about Giggs not getting the Swansea job and saying it was a disgrace. Giggs has never had a proper manager's job and yet he and his media/expro pals think he has the devine right to walk into a Premiership job. We had a similar outcry when Sherwood was sacked, do they have no contact at all with reality.
While I'm on one, Dion Dublin commented on final score that RDM should be given a few quid to spend and allowed to get on with his job! £50 bleedin' million Dion, get a feckin grip man!! I like Dion, but for Gods sake!

I've had a season ticket for more years than I can remember, but if we are so clueless that we allow Dim Tim to come back even to clean the boots of the under twelves I would seriously consider taking mine back!

I would like Hughton, won the Championship with the Geordies.
Just can't see Wagner being able to get our squad playing with the intensity and in the style he demands. Whilst Tony might be minted the amount of money it would require to get a team capable of running and pressing for the full 90 minutes twice a week would make a Sheik weep.

Re: The next Villa Manager
Aston Villa Football Club is an unquestionable mess, but so too is Tim Sherwood's team
24 OCT 2015. BY ANDY DUNN
The Villans fell to yet another defeat at home to an equally out-of-form Swansea and are increasingly looking like relegation fodder in their current state
It is not Tim Sherwood's fault Aston Villa Football Club has been shedding its dignity over the last half a decade.
It is not Tim Sherwood's fault one of football's grandest institutions has shifted into a swamp of mediocrity.
It is not Tim Sherwood's fault Villa's transfer policy might as well have been made up over a few jars.
There has been a desperate inertia - lifted only sporadically - about this place for a long time. A long time before Sherwood arrived with his smile, swagger and soundbites.
But it is Sherwood's fault this team looks devoid of a cogent plan.
It is Sherwood's fault the only people who find his tactics harder to decipher than the punters appear to be his players.
It is Sherwood's fault he trusts defenders who have perfected the art of letting him down at key moments. And Sherwood knows it.
Sherwood knows all this and that is why he cannot deflect a single shaft of blame being shone towards him.
Confident character he is, Sherwood thought his motivation, his inspiration, his training ground nous would be enough to overcome a transfer set-up that is clearly not to his liking.
It has not been enough. Nowhere near enough. As Sherwood himself said, Aston Villa is a club in a hole.
That it got there is not his fault. That there are absolutely NO signs of it being lifted out IS.
And that is why the call will come. Sooner rather than later.

I wouldn't mind Hughton at all, maybe even bring us their man on the left LuaLua in January!

Michael Laudrup was appointed manager of Al Rayyan in Doha yesterday and during the press conference he was asked if he wanted to manage in Spain or England again and he said no!
Apparently he turned down clubs in China and USA and decided on Doha????? But he has managed here before.

Fair enough and not a bad choice either. I could see him coming to us and potentially having a good few seasons leading us towards to top half of the prem.
