They're on sale every fortnight mate - tens of thousands of em never used, the unsold tickets are keeping every Midlands pulping mill in business. Vast herds of Wildebeest roam across the empty terracing at the sty,  and creeping vines hold sway, constantly splitting the crumbling concrete, pigeons roost and coo in the rusting, silent roof spaces. The only discernible movement in the echoing desolation are a few lads from the 28 days later website, who investigate and catalogue post industrial dereliction in all it's ferrous oxide glory.

Oh, sorry, you mean Villa v Blues tickets, oh they'll be a couple of weeks yet........

Oh DK you are aweful, lol!

That was gold, huh?

Blues are apparently putting on 15 coaches to the Villa with free beer courtesy of their sponsor.

To put it another way, they'll be going back with 8 coaches.

Reminds me of once, way back - I reckon late 70s and we were at home to Man ure. There was lots of trouble in Witton Lane and I remember a police horse running up the road after this lad who was trying to get away. The mounted copper reaches down right by where I was standing and grabbed the lad by his hair. Suddenly this lad starts screaming like a stuck pig and the copper shouts "Stop being a fucking pansy, I've only grabbed you" and the lad starts screaming "your fucking horse is standing on my foot!". And it was. Me and my mates could hardly stand up for laughing and years later we'd still laugh about it.

Some result for Bristol City tonight beating Huddersfield 4-0. Bet Brighton and Newcastle are loving that scoreline.

Trotters please don't cut and paste any words from a snotnose, even when taking the piss. You run a real risk of infecting TBAR. They are all dirty and carry infections.
Looking at that snotnose post, I feel like when a cat brings in a half chewed, barely alive rat, much to the owner's disgust and revulsion as it just pollutes the house.
I'm now going to have to bathe my eyes and disinfect my phone. ....

In the cold light of day everyone goes through poor form. But that spell when we contrived to let leads go in the last minute FOUR TIMES is what really is gonna be the defining moment of our season. We win even two of those and we're right in the fight. Hell even the Forest and Preston games recently were absolute give-aways.

Anyway Sheff Wed go to Barnsley next, then it's Rotherham away. We desperately need them to lose to Barnsley so that the gap could potentially close to eight points. IF that happens then they'll be nervous as sh/t when they go to Rotherham. Yes, you'd expect them to win that game but who knows? The key is they've got a very tough run-in so we just need to keep chipping away. If we were to pull this off it would surely be the greatest comeback in championship history?

Just seen that in the last six games we've closed the gap on the play-offs by ten points, and we're now eleven points behind with eight games to go. When you look at it like that it doesn't seem so impossible.

Also of our last eight games five of them are at home and two of the away games are against teams battling relegation Blackburn and Burton, the other away is Fulham.

It's unlikely but if we can somehow continue our current form then we have a chance.

Don't do it to yourself, it'll only make you miserable! We won't make it, just relax and enjoy the final 8 games with no angst in the knowledge that we'll be more stable as football club in the championship next season. It's not realistic to expect 4-5 clubs to implode in the final 8 games, which is what would be required. It's not realistic to think Villa will win the remaining games and then the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, PNE, Fulham, Norwich etc to all fall away! By all means check the odds and stick a tenner on purely out of hope!!

Playoffs are an unrealistic goal now this season. Which is fucking disappointing.

So let's just win the league next season! I fancy our name on that trophy again anyway

Our goal should be to win every game that we play and see where it takes us.

Just feel that dark cloud has finally lifted. From the live games I saw while we were losing, yes were weren't playing well, but it never felt like we had the rub of the green (deflections & rebounds) & our flashes of industry weren't rewarded - then we'd be punished by a couple of goals (probably what the Wigan fans are moaning about today). Throw in the injuries as well & I was in danger of believing the old "curse" nonsense.

Of course that should be the goal, just don't go thinking we've got a better than a 100/1 chance of achieving it! (I checked the odds on us making the top 6, I'll stick a tonne on it just because very occasionally things like this can happen and it'd pay for our summer holidays!)

Just seen that Hourihane hasn't made the Championship team of the year, despite scoring nine goals and getting 13 assists, making him responsible for more goals from midfield than any other player in the division I can think of. Not to mention that he's also got some of the best defensive stats in the league.

So I've decided to play devils advocate

I've looked at all remaining fixtures and I calculate the following pts tally for the other clubs;

Sheff Wed- 72
Norwich- 68
Derby- 64
Fulham- 72
PNE- 68
Barnsley- 63

I think Villa will return 20-22

Go fetch yer calculators!

Isn't there an online predictor thingy that'll work out the league positions for you once you've chucked in your guesses?

Brilliant! Thanks.

I have us finishing 9th although the bottom few teams I've predicted will only get another point or 2 and they'll be fighting so should pick up more than that.

Pos Team Pts
1 Brighton 97
2 Newcastle 92
3 Leeds 87
4 Huddersfield 83
5 Reading 78
6 Sheff Wed 77
7 Fulham 74
8 Preston 69
9 Aston Villa 69
10 Norwich 68
11 Derby 68
12 Cardiff 67
13 Barnsley 65
14 Brentford 61
15 Birmingham 57
16 Wolverhampton 55
17 Burton Albion 53
18 QPR 53
19 Ipswich 52
20 Nott'm Forest 48
21 Bristol City 44
22 Blackburn 41
23 Wigan 37
24 Rotherham 18

Just shows cos I'd have had burton finishing below Blackburn and yet in that table they are way up.
Apparently the first 200 snot noses to buy tickets for the villa game get free coaches. Carrier bags full of half house bricks at the ready folks.
