Ugo Ehiogu
Looks like he lost his battle last night. Such a shame, Villa legend and talented coach taken so soon. Another one Of The entertaining early 90s one taken so young

Re: Ugo Ehiogu
Absolutely awful news. Gutting. From what I'm reading he had a heart attack?
Unbelievable. Just unbelievable.
Hopefully the club can hurry something together to commemorate the big man. And hopefully the Blues fans won't try and ruin it.

RIP Ugo. Absolute legend of AVFC. Him & Southgate were immense for us.
Such shocking news.
Trotters I hope you're right, and the Club do something to remember him. I cant see the Blues fans ruining anything.

I think 99.9% of their fans will do the right thing. But with the derby day atmosphere, the few knobs might just spark the rest of them into twatishness.
But back to the club: they've shown style and class in the past so I expect they'll do something fitting.

Re: Ugo Ehiogu
RIP great player/great person - my thoughts go out to his family.
He actually damaged my ex-missus' nose once.
Here's how: We went to watch a Villa v Plymouth Argyle pre-season friendly years back - I don't even remember when , but Ugo had just joined us. Well the guy who did the typing of team names for the scoreboard at Home Park must have given up on his name and he was down on the scoreboard as just one name (Brazilian-style) - "Yugo" - like the old cheap Eastern European car! We were all looking at each other going "What the fuck's a Yugo?"
Anyway, it was either in the warm up or sometime during the game (I think warm up) and Ugo fired a shot at the goal we were behind, it missed, pinged off the fence that was there in those days, and smacked my at-the-time missus right in the nose. He didn't realise he'd done anything but she was properly suffering - went for X-Rays after the game but not broken, just badly bruised.
I don't think his shooting ever improved much TBH haha
(edit; just checked, it was a testimonial for a PAFC legend called Tommy Tynan and was August 91, Ugo had just that week joined us from West Brom, no wonder we were confused as to what a Yugo was!!)

RIP BIG MAN. He was a vital part of the success in the 90s. The defence he formed with Southgate and Mcgraph was immense. It's crazy to think that Dalian died not long ago and now big Ugo!!!..smh just terrible.

It's a measure of the man that so many of my non-villan mates were texting me about it.
Sad.

Did he have a shirt number or was we still wearing 1 - 11 in his day?
Just wondering as it could be a time when he appears on the displays around the grounds

I could not believe this when I saw he had collapsed on Sky News and even more shocked when I heard he had passed away. It has been a truly heart breaking time for us Villans as we have lost Dalian, SGT and now Ugo, all true gents and all taken to soon. As Merse said only the good die young!
