The new board of directors
Whilst we welcome Tony Xia to the club as chairman, some of the names connected to him with a view to running the Villa are a little concerning.
Wyness seems to be absolutely hated by Everton fans and Samuelson (no, I don't know either) fairs little better.
It's a shame that Bernstein and King got stroppy and didn't stick around. Them and Xia would have been quite something!
As it stands, the first two names seem hot favourites to come on board. What is it they do? What is it they've done in the past?
Will Damien Comolli come in and will HE pick the manager?
As we've found over the last 5 or 6 years, if we don't get it right at boardroom level, it's not going to go right for us on the pitch.
The next few weeks will be just as interesting as the last few.

Re: The new board of directors
The pictures from Xia's webio certainly seems to indicate he already has his board picked out and everything is now just a matter of passing the relevant football league hurdles.
Will be interesting to see if Riley is finally fucked off in favour of a proper DoF and who it turns out to be in both this position and the managers seat and how much backing they're provided with in their first window

Also don't forget both King and Bernstein left because of Lerner. Lerner no more so there is a very, very, small window of opportunity here. I agree that it looks like he has his chosen already but stranger things have happened.

Re: The new board of directors
I notice on one of the tops is the name "Cook" (well, we can only see 'ook'). I hope to hell that's not referring to Garry Cook. Not only an absolute bell-end, but a bluenose bell-end.
The names connected with Xia so far are a little worrying. A quick search of twitter will tell you that Everton fans don't think much of the Wyness/Samuelson paring...

Re: The new board of directors
I've absolutely no idea what's going on in this work meeting today
The other name I can see in that photo of Xia in the changing rooms is "Banfill". A google hunt reveals that he's linked with Chris Samuelson through this company (scroll down). http://socfin.gi
This is part of what they specialise in:
Here's a screenshot. I'm starting to think they maybe only advised Big T on the takeover rather than being potential board members.
Under that part of the website is this statement:

Re: The new board of directors
While I was on google I had a look at how to pronounce Xia.
It's "Show" as in "Shower of shit" rather than "Gabby put on quite a show"

You are bothered. I think you're bothered how people pronounce YOUR name.
Is it Jop, jopp-ee, yoppee or "free beer"

I'm of the opinion that the shot of the Doctor and samuelson with named shirts is the team that put the deal together, the Doctor has been named chairman already and I'm hoping that a football board is yet to be decided.
I would love the Board that Hollis assembled to run this club.

I t was lost in the excitement yesterday. But I wonder now if Bernstein and King jumped the gun - was Dr Tony looking for some experienced people to run the club - why couldn't that have been Bernstein and king ?
With regards to wyiness - directors chairman, are rarely popular - he seems to have taken some tough decisions which we have lacked over the last few years. Plus he's fat and bald so he gets a tentative thumbs up from me....

Re: The new board of directors
Socfin look to only put people and finances together and, from what I've read of the Everton sites, it was their failure to sell that brought about the ire of toffees fans.
Like you, 4Bet, I'd love to see Bernie and King back.

Re: The new board of directors
In his interview with Ron Toss (I think it was him anyway), Hollis was asked if he's sticking around on the board.
His answer was that it was inappropriate to respond to that as he's still working on finalising the deal on behalf of Lerner.
But it sounded very much like he was keen on hanging around!
