Sheffield Wednesday Away

Post by Villa_Dan on Fri Jul 15, 2016 10:43 am

I was really looking forward to going to this match. Drive up listening to the Artic Monkeys, Human League, Bring me the Horizon, Pulp...

Then getting pissed for our 1st game of the season. But they've given us 2000 tickets and are charging £42 each! Thieving fuck-nuggets

Bearing in mind VP is a much nicer stadium, with higher running costs, what about £60 a ticket for their away fans for the return fixture? And maybe £8 for a pint or curry pasty?

Would only be fair. Considering all Premier League teams have committed to £30 a ticket for away fans, charging more for the lower tier competition is so ridiculous the league should step in

I agree it's stupid paying these sort of prices for away matches.

Would be great if Xia himself bumped up ticket prices when they come to brum. Return the favour so to speak.

Villa supporters have to boycott this game, it is the only way anybody will take any notice!

It is on Sky as well, it is utterly ridiculous!

First game of the season - away from home - new owner - new manager - new players - new hope and you say boycott the game.

Absolutely fine if you are willing to pay these prices, to some it is a lot of money besides the travel etc!

I hear that the authorities up there refuse entry to the ground to piss heads with U18 tickets.

£42!!!!

That's just fucking rude. Not their fans fault and if Sheffield make any money out of the return fixture (I dunno how these things work) the Xia needs to let everyone in free just to fuck them over.

£42 is still the cheapest adult / non concession ticket in the stadium. Home fans pay £42-£49 a ticket apparently which is shocking for a 2nd tier game I think, but I suppose clubs need to finance their transfers somehow and with no parachute payment and an average prize money of £2.5m a season in the Championship I can see why they're charging what they are.

While I fully understand your point, I actually think we should stay away.

It's the working class sport where the athletes are making £ 50 - 200 k A WEEK. The average UK salary 2015 was £27,600. And they are charging £ 42. I can't strongly underline how fucked up I think this is.

So staying away has nothing to do with not supporting your team, it has everything to do with making a stand. 42 fucking for SF in the championship. You're having a laugh.

Does anyone know an Owls fan that would be happy to venture in here to give their thoughts on the game, their squad and what they think of the Villa?
