might be ok but not better then what we already have, rather hoping for a big name up front.

Looks like a great player in his highlight reel in YouTube. Quality finishing on all types of goals. Reminds me of Benteke a bit with the amount of variety in his efforts. I also love the fact that he celebrates like he just scored the winner in a cup final for most of them. Another guy who just loves playing.
Another impressive thing is that he spoke French in his first interview for Bristol because his English was very poor and by the end of the season he was speaking better English than most native Brits in the post match interviews. It shows his work ethic off the pitch. I'd be very happy with this one.

Re: Bristol City striker Kodjia.
20 goals in 48 games for a team who finished 18th sounds promising but I have reservations:
He's 26 but has only played 1 season in England.
Before last season he'd only scored more than 10 goals in a season once.
He looks about 45 years old.
McCormack is older and more expensive but in his last 5 seasons has scored 18, 5, 28, 17, 21 goals for Leeds and Fulham. That's proven goals at this level. Can't guarantee that from this lad.

NO One can guarantee that the past will be repeated in the future mate.Villa_Dan wrote:20 goals in 48 games for a team who finished 18th sounds promising but I have reservations:

Personally I'd prefer the guy from Bristol (or someone from real/ barca)

No but a lad who has done it 4 times out of 5 is a better bet.
This Bristol lad could come in a do even better than he did last season. He might not. I'd rather proven entities who could get us up 1st time.
Happy for this lad to come in and prove otherwise but I'll reserve judgment on him

I will reserve judgement on any player we buy, and becau a player has done it in a different team for consecutive seasons it does not mean he will do it in our team. We have ruined many a career lol.

Me too. And as suggested in one of the Mail links, Ayew behind Gestede and a new striker? That could work.

Benteke didn't exactly score for fun at Genk either. In fact, Lambert was more interested in his strike partner than Benteke at first. Lambo decided to roll the dice on the big man after he was cheaper than Gomis and Bony, but was a similar player.
