Pin it on the dressing room wall Roberto!!
Ladies and gentleman...I give you the words of gobsh/t Ian Holloway who bottled his last job in the prem and ran a mile because he couldn't handle it...
You know I understand there's a certain perception about the club after the disgrace that was last season. But this idiot really does bite the biscuit. New board, new manager, a few new players with the window still open with a squad full of young talent like Okore, Grealish, Amavi, Adama, Green etc!!..coupled with others who know the league like Gardner and Baker...and this piece is all Holloway has to say? Wolves were struggling last season and have just bought in a couple of loans but somehow that makes them more likely to finish above us? What about Reading with a novice manager who hasn't even spent much? Same goes for Leeds!!..I'm confident we will ram these words back down his big mouth and hopefully we'll let him know it.
LINK16th ASTON VILLA
They're lucky I've put them this high. Last season Villa's players felt the weight of the shirt, but not the importance of it. They didn't respect the badge enough. I'm worried nothing will change.
They could easily get relegated again. With the lack of investment and the lack of unity within the playing squad. They've got Roberto Di Matteo, who is a wonderful man, but it's a huge job to carry that expectation. It's going to take something special to turn it around.
The overpaying they would have done thinking they're just nailed on Premier League side means they're now in the mire. Most of the players wouldn't have had relegation clauses in their contracts and they're now going to be on huge wages, lacking motivation.
I don't care who they've got on the bench or who's running the club, they have to sort out the squad, the mentality and the crowd's expectations. It's not going to be easy. Teams as big as Villa have suffered back-to-back relegation's. They need to be really careful.

On the scale of possible outcomes, but unlikely if we get a decent striker and a midfielder or two.
Anyone looking at our capitulation against Boro will be worried that our season could go this way if we get off to a bad start and get stuck in a rut of conceding easy goals while unable to punish teams at the other end.

Suddenly lots of people on twitter and other forums predicting a bottom half finish for us, as things stand. Strange how opinion can be swayed so easily by something like this. Holloway probably only made the prediction for attention and for it to draw attention to the Sky Sports site.

Holloway is a numpty that no one listens too anyway.
Now that TX KW and RDM have had a month to look at Villa I would say that they see a complete mess and they thought they would find it easy to offload the dross and sign much better players, the truth being that the dross are lowlifes that will happily run down their contracts and that the better players RDM wants simply will not come here right now.
I am always an optimist but I need to be patient as the rebuild of Villa will take a while and the reality is sinking in that our target should be the playoffs.
The title of this thread is quality and RDM should indeed use these opportunities to motivate the troops, the ones that would give a fuck shit that is, as some are just a waste of effort.
RB AM and ST needed to make the difference but only ones that improve us.

Seems a bit unrealistic, but I can see where he is coming from. I'd say 5-10th place is on the cards unless we sign a CM and quality striker.

Honestly, I hate that bloke - and in these parts if he ever showed his face again in Plymouth I think they'd lynch him, he's known as The Judas there.
Having said that, and putting aside my instincts to always have a go back at anyone who has a go at Villa, is there anything there that he said about last season that we could really argue with? I think the 16th is bollox obviously, but until we put a team on the pitch in a competitive game in the Championship, there must be very few of us that hand on heart can say - as things stand today - we're not concerned?
Bloke's still a weapons-grade twat mind......

His predicted finishing place is, in my opinion, laughable. There's little or no thought gone into that.
However, the rest of what he says isn't far off the truth. Sadly.
But you know what? WE can say that as fans. HE can fuck off!

Well Olly is only one up from Gobby Cabbage in evolutionary terms and one down from single celled organisms. Jealous rocket polisher!
Unfortunately some of our squad proved last year that open criticism regarding their professionalism had no effect on their performances as they don't give a monkey's! They could wallpaper Gabby's and Lescott's bedroom in these articles and they would still have no shame in collecting the wage at the end of the week! Maybe they would have a party or buy a new car and post it over the internet and national press!

It seems that our new owner took exception to Holloway after this prediction and tweeted his displeasure. He has since deleted it.

I just love it when twats like Holloway come out with this shite, as the title of this post says "Pin it on the wall" and make him eat dirt, if that doesn't give the players an extra incentive nothing will. NOBODY knows, until we kick off properly on Sunday, how this squad will react BUT we normally ram it down the pundits throat, or we used to.
