Sitting with Xia
So I missed this (apols if it's been mentioned before) but it looks like each home game 3 or 4 fans will be selected from STHs and a couple from people who tweet #sitting or #fightlikelions to sit with Uncle Tony in his exec box.
Pretty cool idea.

I think its a good idea aswell matey, we couldn't even get a feckin tweet from lerner let alone to sit with him! can I ask you mate as I like to read your opinions/posts etc. WHEN we get back to the prem do you think were gonna be big time and Dr T will be providing a blank cheque for any player we want?

Jim, that's a whole thread on its own right there mate!
Personally I'm not convinced we'll make it this year I think we've had to come back from too broken a club and had the false start with RDM.
I don't necessarily think it's the end of the world though for the following reasons:
Firstly and purely selfishly, I've already enjoyed this year more than any in ages, I've been to 4 out of 7 home games which is as many as the previous 3 seasons put together. I've felt the change in atmosphere and optimism and wrecked my throat on a regular basis. It's actually worth a 400 mile round trip now and I haven't felt like that for ages. Love singing don't look back in anger as well.
From a club point of view, although I hate to say it, the likes of Newcastle and to a lesser extent Norwich are clubs that were broadly OK but had poor seasons in the prem which means they weren't that broken. If you add to the mix clubs that are there or thereabouts in championship terms - stable and competent like Huddy and Brighton, we do have a big ask. Also, add to that the thing we need to avoid at all costs, which is to scrape into the Prem then get battered because we simply cannot fix the problems/build a competent Prem standard squad in 2 windows - one of which will occur whilst we are an above-half-way Championship team at best.
I am torn between wanting to get back to the Prem asap, and wanting to get back to the prem with a fighting chance of attaining the rightful place of this great club of ours.
Do I think we'll be big time again? Yes and I think Xia and his backers have big money. Do I think it will be instant success? No, but for the above reasons I can live with a 2 year plan for return and a 5 year plan for being great.
One thing that has often annoyed me is that we're the biggest club, in the second city, of a major European country. Look at teams that are the same elsewhere in Europe, look at their success over time. It's a fecking travesty that we've underachieved for so much of our history.
The Chinese love a good dynasty, let's see them build one in B6.

More along the lines of "Westwood you fucking cockwomble! You're about as useless as tits on a nun!"
Think Tony would love it

Gongji Wang bu'er.
Although obviously in their writing which looks like somebody tripped over a ker-plunk game.

The last "custodian" didn't come anywhere near Villa Park and his henchmen felt the need to hire bodyguards. Dr T is inviting people to sit and watch a game with him. The difference is incredible. Well done Doc.

To be fair at first Lerner was a regular visitor and we had the good General on forums and at the ground. I met GK a couple of times outside the Trinity. Lerner also sold hospitality in the Directors dining room and my cousin had a table in there and we met/saw Lerner a few times but that soured very quickly and Lerner stopped turning up and they scrapped it.
So it will be interesting to see what Tony does when/if we go through a sticky patch?

Re: Sitting with Xia
Yes that's true Del, Lerner was the best thing since sliced bread for about 4 years. Then he realise that MON had wasted large amounts of cash and didn't have a back up plan. He was pretty inept and couldn't put in place a management team that could properly run the club.
Where he went wrong was he turned against the club, and therefore us. His beef, if he had one, should have been with MON, but in reality he couldn't cope with the changing face of the premier league. Hopefully Dr T will have more stomach for the fight, know how to go into battle and realise that we're not the enemy.
