Re: Ravel Morrison set for Villa?
No smoke without fire. We have RDM's Lazio connection as well. I think it's going to happen, we possibly need to offload a few more first, but you can quote me on this if I'm wrong

Re: Ravel Morrison set for Villa?
Looks like Lazio are really struggling recently, I just read a stat that they've only sold 15 or so season tickets...not too sure how true this is. But if it is then they'll be desperate to make up the losses from that.
It's gone quiet recently so not sure if it will go through. I think it's worth taking the punt as in the right atmosphere he could seriously thrive.

He could tear up the championship, but would he tear up team spirit? We've had enough of that IMO.
If we could convince him to come and drop all the baggage at the gates I'm for it, if not then no thanks.

Re: Ravel Morrison set for Villa?
I think you can afford one dickhead in the team if the rest of the team is solid and good in terms of mentality and team spirit. I can't see this being a smart idea when you got Bacuna, Richards, Lescott, Gabby and young easily influenced players like Grealish, Toner, Green, Murphy etc.
I've gone from could work to firmly stay away. Lets focus on building a team first.
I was watching a documentary about Rosenborg in the 90's the other day. A team filled with Norwegian part time footballers that ended up outplaying Juve, Milan, Real Madrid, Blackburn, Dortmund ++ they are still the best team I've seen in my life time. They were utterly amazing. Played a 433 with amazing work rate and runs into the box from midfield. Played a lot on second, third and fourth movements.
Anyway my point here is that in the documentary the players said that the outstanding bit was that they all were one big family. They cared so much for eachother and the team they had increased work rate because of it. It's a bit like what you saw of Leicester last season tbh. I think if we wanna become great again it doesn't start with money or owners, it starts with the right players playing as a team. We need to find that team. And it sure doesn't start with Ravel Morrison.

It's called the hvit tornado (white tornado).
http://www.viasat4.no/hvit_tornado_rosenborgs_europaeventyr
No idea if there exists a subbed version.

This is exactly what I would like us to get back too.
With a team like this there is so much togetherness, it gets all the fans behind them as well, as the fans appreciate the team spirit running throughout the team.
The complete and utter opposite of last season!

Re: Ravel Morrison set for Villa?
Nice post, Joppe.
And I agree that one cockspank probably wouldn't ruin the positive atmosphere of a changing room but we've done only the miminimum to rid ourselves of the absolute shit that dragged the club through the mud last season. We can't go adding more.
A couple of losses on the bounce and the place will go to hell.

Re: Ravel Morrison set for Villa?
can't see why this is being discussed - the initial link was around a month ago - based on him coming to birmingham for a medical. Nothing since then. We have to shift players out - when we do I imagine a striker will be priority - not midfield.

Re: Ravel Morrison set for Villa?
If you look on the Lazio official site they recently did a team photo and Ravel Morrison wasn't in it, not saying that means he's coming here but does look like he'll be leaving them

Re: Ravel Morrison set for Villa?
Started following Villa and some of our players on twitter apparently and liked a tweet someone sent to Xia, saying he should sign Morrison. Either he's going to be signing for us soon, or he's angling for a move to us.

Re: Ravel Morrison set for Villa?
Well ignoring the fact that he is a bellend and we largely don't want him, he could cover three positions in RDM's 4231 tactic couldn't he?

Who's "We"? because if you're talking about fans I've seen much more fans want the deal to happen than not.

Christ you're argumentative. Based on this thread? Based on 6-7 opinions on the first page alone

Excuse me? Most of the people on the first page said they'd like him to sign!!..so I'm not sure what you're talking about. Also looking on twitter and people keep asking when is he gonna sign!!..so I think you jumped the gun with your assessment tbh.

Re: Ravel Morrison set for Villa?
You must be looking on another page than I am then. And to be fair. Aston Villa could sign Adolf Hitler as our new striker and the majority of the fan base would welcome him. People just are utterly gay about new signings.

Re: Ravel Morrison set for Villa?
Well 4BetLite, Villa_Dan, Dgrizzle7, avfc forever, NARLA24, BillytheKid and KMitch all claimed they were ok with the Morrison deal so I'd suggest you read the first page again.

Re: Ravel Morrison set for Villa?
And from what I can see
@Joppe84
@Wriggle
@KMitch
@Alf T
@VillaBill
@Trotters
@Villa_Dan
@DaveAV1
@4BetLite
all are utterly negative or sceptical.
Now obviously this is very tedious, so lets just say it's a very dividing transfer, when it happens.

Re: Ravel Morrison set for Villa?
Being "negative" about his personality and not wanting him to come are two different things. The majority want him to sign...fullstop.
