Has the fanzine had its day?
It isn't so often that we see fanzine sellers at football grounds. There used to be two or three available at some clubs. Villa used to have Witton Wisdom, The Holy Trinity and others whose names escape me.
Why don't we see them now? Have people got bored of them or do the producers not need the income any more?

It's had its day with media that accessible from phones - no one is interested much in fanzines.

Re: Has the fanzine had its day?
Its an outdated and anachronistic medium these days a bit like forums are becoming why pay £1.50 for a fanzine when there is now blogs like MOMS and 7500ToHolte who give content for free? Forums are also dying out due to Twitter and Facebook groups where people can post without oppressive and aggressive (this forum being an exception) moderators.
If we were in the heyday of fanzines and forums it would probably be easier to encourage an anti Lerner movement much like was done with Doug.

Unfortunately, in these troubled times, some forums are loathe to criticise the board as they see it as a chance to get in with the hierarchy. One particular editor has NEVER criticised Lerner.

Fanzines have shifted into the digital era. That can be expensive to do unless someone offers to do it for you. Maybe some quid pro quo deal.
But reading info that's been prepared over a week or two is pointless. You need to be up to the minute.

Print media is having a tough time of it. Why buy a magazine when you can read it somewhere else online for free? As the readership dwindles (also from crowd numbers going down) a fanzine starts to cost (even more) money to whoever is creating it. Plus you can't argue with a fanzine like you can with idiots - I mean other fans who don't share your opinion - on forums.

Very true. One fanzine even has a forum where you pay to get into. This forum has the sole purpose of slagging other posters off. That is posters who haven't paid to be in it.

Are their many digital fanzines?? H&V went online only but that seemed like an odd business decision.
